When I arrived at the building Nicole had arranged for us to meet, I became nervous.
I kept on wondering if I was thinking straight or acting on impulse.
I looked around, and I couldn’t see Nicole.
Worried, I took my phone out of my bag, to give him a phone call.
His phone rang, but he didn’t pick it up.
I was about to step out of the building when suddenly my eyes were closed from behind by someone’s hands.
“Guess who?”
The person asked.
I knew it was Nicole, I recognized his scent and voice.
“Nicole it’s you silly.”
He laughed and removed his hands.
“Yes, you got it right. Sorry, I scared you. I saw you when you were calling my digits. I had put my phone on silent purposely. I wanted to startle you a bit.”
He grinned.
“And you did.”
“Doorh, let’s go over there, so we can discuss.”
He pointed at a room.
“But can’t we talk over here?”
“Calm down Laura, I just want us to go in so we can discuss freely. Don’t tell me you are scared of me right now.
“No am not. Just that I will feel more comfortable if we discuss outside.”
“Alright your choice.”
He smiled and came closer.
I locked my eyes in his, for some minutes. His intense gaze, made me feel unease.
When he observed I didn’t want to talk, he broke the silence.
“ I am glad you are here. I felt bad when you didn’t pick up my calls earlier.”
“Sorry, I was asleep when you called.”
“Oh! How about the calls I gave you in the morning? Weren’t you there too?”
“Nicole I was unsettled then. What are you asking me for isss”.
I was trying to find the words to say when he covered my lips with his hands.
“Shh, say no more.”
He winked at me and brought out his tongue to my ear lobe.
He did wonders at first, and magic at the second.
Gush at that moment, I could feel my legs shaking.
I held his head and caressed it.
That drove him on.
Till I was at the perfect spot he wanted me to be.
All wet like a jellyfish.
“Let’s go in now”
He said.
I looked into his eyes and shook my head.
“I am not ready for intimacy yet. Please be more patient with me.”
“Common babe. You won’t get pregnant if that’s what you are afraid of. You won’t.”
“It is not only about getting pregnant. I planned on reserving this for my future husband. This means a lot to Me understand please.”
Right after I said that he hissed and gave me a scornful look.
“Choose between me and your virginity then. I am tired of these silly games. One moment you turn me on then the other you turn me off. You know what just take your leave. I am fed up.”
He blurted out.
“But it’s not like that Nicole. You know I love you a whole lot and I will do anything to make you happy but doing this is hard for me. Please understand.”
“Just get out. There are lots of fish in the river and here I am begging you for something we will both enjoy. It’s not like as if you don’t want what I am asking for either. You just chose to pretend like you don’t. Don’t worry, I will get a solution for myself since you don’t want to do the needful.”
“And what solution is that?”
I asked in tears.
“ A lady to grace my bed, since you refused to do so.”
He said coldly.
Angry, I slapped him hard, and he hit me back.
I broke into tears and left in annoyance.
When I returned to the hostel, Christiana had not returned.
It seemed she wasn’t coming home that night.
I wet my pillows with tears all through the night.
I couldn’t believe Nicole could say such to me. I felt as if I had a nightmare.
The following day, I expected his call so he could apologize for his hurtful actions, but he didn’t call.
When I bumped into him after I left the lecture room, he hissed and pushed me away.
I spoke in tears.
“But Nicole refusing your request doesn’t mean we should become enemies. Please am sorry if it hurt you I refused to do your will. Please “
“There’s no need to apologize. I already found a solution. This thing between us is over. Consider yourself free from now on. One more thing don’t even bother calling or looking for me you won’t like my actions. Good – day.”
He stamped his feet and left.
At that juncture, I couldn’t hold back the tears forming in my eyes. They outpoured like rainfall.
I had lost Nicole for life. I wondered if I could cope without him by my side.
When I went back into the hostel, I lay down on the bed. I had lost my appetite. I looked lifeless, totally out of shape.
Christiana tried her best to cheer me up, but I couldn’t help the tears.
Nicole’s coldness towards me really hit me hard. I was certain I wouldn’t recover from his actions so soon.
His last words constantly played in my mind the whole day.
Poor me! I find a hard time sleeping.
