When Louis’s father returned to the hospital his wife informed him of what the authorities had found out.
The news left Louis’s father in a complete state of shock. He opened his mouth widely for some minutes and reflected upon so many things.
He concluded everything that had happened had been executed by someone against the union of Louis and Laura.
Who the person was what he couldn’t figure out yet.
After so many thoughts with no clarifications to his inner questions,
He zoomed out of his thoughts and offered his wife the food he had brought from the restaurant.
His wife collected It from his hands reluctantly. She ate like a toddler she had lost her appetite as a result of continuous worries.
Louis’s father on the other hand ate everything on his plate in no time. When he was through with his meal his wife had only eaten a quarter.
He held her hands and told her everything will be alright soon. It was after he cooed sweet things to her ears that she ate the remaining meal.
Later the doctor came to inform them that Nicodemus and Steve were better so they could speak to them.
Louis’s mom blossomed with smiles after hearing that although she wished she could talk to Louis too.
However, she was happy that Nicodemus and Steve were better. She had taken Steve as her son the moment Louis told her everything about Steve.
Steve was an orphan his father and mother had long died years ago in a plane accident.
After the death of his parents, Steve carried on with his life. It was difficult at first because none of his relatives were close. The only reason he wasn’t deeply affected was that he was already an adult before his parents left the world.
Even at that, he suffered from cold for several nights because the bank his parents had borrowed money from came to take hold of the house his parents had used for collateral before the bank agreed to issue their loan.
To complicate things the other assets his parents had was undependable because the owners soon came knocking for their belongings. It was then he realized his parent’s wealth had been staged.
It was painful. He had to move on with his life against so many hurdles.
The day Louis told his mother about the story she was in tears. It was since then she took Steve as her son. It was easy because Steve was sweet and cool. He had a way of relating with people and he was way too good at that.
Louis’s mom and her husband beamed smiles at Nicodemus and Steve when they entered their ward. They chatted with them a little before leaving the ward. Steve and Nicodemus were still weak so they spoke in hushed tones.
Louis on the other hand was in the intensive care unit (ICU) so he can get extra care and attention.
The doctor informed Louis’s father and his mother that they can’t visit him yet.
After Louis’s father and his mother left their ward they left the hospital so they could go to the station.
When they arrived at the station the DPO in charge of the case told them about the evidence they had gathered as to why they had concluded the accident was planned.
He further explained the part of the car that had been tampered with before the accident.
He then asked questions from Louis’s father and mother regarding their son’s (Louis) life. He asked if Louis had already had any clash with anyone before his wedding day.
Their response was no. Louis was a man of peace he barely had issues with anyone. He only reacted whenever he was extremely pissed off.
What Louis’s father and his mother weren’t aware of was the clash between their son and kunle.
Louis had kept them in the dark about it including the fact that Laura was his brother’s ex. Louis did that so they wouldn’t get worried or stand as a stumbling block in the way of his plans with Laura. Little did Louis have an idea of the danger ahead of his plans.
He had settled on gunpowder.
His parents left the station to their home with troubled hearts. They took their bath and went into their bedroom to rest they were exhausted as a result of the stress.
Later in the day, they gave Laura’s mom a call so they could speak with Lillian. Lillian’s curiosity was getting at its peak day by day. They had to cook up stories to satisfy her quest.
After Louis’s father cut the call he and his wife switched off their phone and slept off.
