π«π Trapped Part TWO:
I met empty plates on the dining table and a smile stretched lips. Andre had stopped eating my food for almost a month now, it was his way of rebelling against my said barrenness but today he ate food prepared by me, without complaining too. It must be the prayer houses, it has to be.
I rushed upstairs to our room and saw him getting ready to go to work.
“Good morning my husband” I greeted failing to hide my smile. He didn’t spare me a look or acknowledge my presence as he knotted his tie but I was patient with him, it was only a matter of time.
“That dress on the bed is for you” he said simply. He is now giving me gifts?
I went to the bed and picked up the beautiful gold dinner dress, it was stunning and it looked overly expensive.
“Andre its so beautiful, thank you” I gushed admiring the dress.
“That dress cost me five hundred thousand naira, do you hear me?”
“Yes” I answered. It was a normal thing for Andre to remind you the cost of whatever he bought in the aim of telling you how rich he was or that you should handle it with care.
“I’m having a small get together here tonight, you are go wear this dress and look presentable, I have business partners that I need to impress. Don’t worry about the preparations I have done all those already”
My face fell. He didn’t buy me the dress out of love but because he wanted me to look presentable, he wanted us to look like the loving couples that we were supposed to be or we would have been if I gave birth to at least one child.
“Any questions?” He asked, he was fully dressed in his suit and was holding a briefcase, looking as handsome as ever.
“No questions butβ”
“βbut what?” He interrupted me irritatedly.
“I’m going to see Doctor Ken next week Friday for medical check-up and I want you to come with me” I said. I already knew his answer and he didn’t disappoint me.
“Go and see doctor Ken for what. I’m I the one with the womb? You are the woman and the failure to have children comes from you” he said angrily.
“He asked that you come too, the fault isn’t from me Doctor Ken said I’m fit to have children, he just needs to check you too so we know the problem” I said hurriedly matching his angry tone. He wasn’t the only one permitted to be angry about our situation, I also do and more so because he wouldn’t listen to me.
“If not for the fact that I need you to look intact for tonight I would have given your the beating of your miserable life”
He hissed and left.
