🧏 The Woman Who Married A River Prince Episode Nine:
“Okay! If it’s rubbîsh I’m talking, then I need to confirm it. I need to see what you are hiding in this mirror that you said I shouldn’t look at” I said and quickly rush to the mirror and look at myself in it. What I saw sent goosebumps and sudden coldness covering my body.
I saw a large river and different forms and sizes of marmaid swimming in it. It was like another world; a world of marmaids. All the marmaids were busy with one thing or the other on the river. As I stared more, I saw a particular marmaid dressed like a princess, she was discussing with a group of other marmaids in the manner that insinuate she was very angry. Or she was seriously inquiring about someone. Suddenly she turned and started looking towards my direction.
I couldn’t tell if she was actually seeing me the same way I was seeing her or she was just looking at my direction but my instincts told me that she was seeing me. Her eyes was glowing like a torchlight. Suddenly, the mirror started moving closer to her as if someone was zooming her, like when you zoom camera. That same minute, smoke started to come out from the mirror and within a twinkle of an eye, other marmaids joined her to stare towards my direction. Then, the marmaid who dressed like a princess started coming close to me, stretching out her hands as though she was going to stickout her hand and dragged me through the mirror, into their world.
“Arrrrrrrrrrrr!” I screamed in fear and Frank jumped out of bed and ran to me. Seeing that I had finally looked at the mirror and seeing how the princess marmaid was fighting to break the mirror so as to come over, Frank quickly pulled me away from the mirror.
“You have finished me! I warned you never to look at yourself on this mirror and you disobeyed. Now you’ve made them to locate me. They will find a way to come for me” He said and started dragging me out of the room.
“You need to leave this house! You need to run away with the kids” Frank said in a manner that seemed urgent. He kept dragging me out of the room, heading to the sittingroom.
“Why should I run away? What crime did I commit?” I asked confusingly.
“You are asking questions when your life supposed to be the first thing you should think of! I told you not to look at the mirror but you disobeyed. Now you’ve brought a battle upon me. You had better start running now” Frank warned as he kept dragging me from the sittingroom to our kids room.
“But where do I run to. Whose house should I run to by this time of the day?” I asked.
“Run to anywhere you like. Run to whosoever house you like I don’t care. All I want you to do is to run. I will come for you when this is over” Frank said and opened the door of our kids room and threw me inside.
“Take the kids and run away!” He commanded and shut the door.
“But why am I running from my own home? Who am I running from?” I shouted but he didn’t answer.
My kids woke because of my shout and became frightened.
“Mummy what happened?” My second son asked me as they came and hugged me.
“It’s nothing my dear” I said and tenderly freed myself from their hugging and went to their wardrobe to take some of their clothes. I was hurriedly arranging their clothes into a small bag when my daughter shouted.
“Mummy, a noise is coming from daddy’s room like someone is fighting there”
“Yes I hear it too” My first son said.
I heisten up with the packing.
“Mummy, where is Daddy?” My first son asked.
“He is sleeping” I lied.
“No! I don’t think he is sleeping. There noise coming from his room like someone is fighting him” my daughter said.
My heart started to beat heavily. I was hearing the noise too.
“Mummy why are you packing our clothes?” My second son asked.
“We are going to see your grandma and grandpa?” I said.
“But our school have not vacate yet”
“Yes! Grandma and grandpa just want to see you briefly. And once they see you, we will come back” I told him.
“Now let’s get going” I told them and held my daughter’s hand on my left, while I carried their bag on my right.
When we came out of the room to the sittingroom and was about to open the door and leave, my daughter shouted:
“Mummy! How about daddy? Is he not coming with us?”
“Daddy needs to go to work! He will come later” I said and got the door opened.
“But we can’t just leave without saying goodbye to him. Let say goodbye to daddy!” My first son said and before I could say “don’t go!” He had already ran up and his brother followed him.
I dropped my bag and ran after them. The got to the room before me and entered. Getting to the room, I saw a group of marmaids standing fiercely opposite my husband. They were holding staffs that possessed magic powers. The had a magical reflection and colours that seemed like a travel portal that allows things/ people to travel to another world.
“Why have you come? I told you to run away with the kids” my husband shouted unseeing the kids and me.
“Oh! You have a human family. That’s why you don’t care about us?” That princess marmaid I had seen earlier said.
“Grab the kids!” She commanded. And two male marmaids quickly grabbed my sons.
“Leave my family out of this!” My husband said.
“Take them away!” She instructed and those marmaids took my son’s and disappeared through the mirror.
