The Next Day, I called Kate to tell her that my dream was becoming a reality just that I didn’t become stubborn that would warrant Frank to start strangling me but Kate didn’t answer my calls. I guess she was still angry with me and had left me to face my fate in my marriage. I called my mom and when she answered, I told her my dream and how it’s becoming a reality. My mum told me that it was my illusion.
That I was thinking too much. “As a newly married wife; you are meant to see new behavior of the man you married which he doesn’t display when you were dating. Just calm down and try to understand your husband” my mom told me. She doesn’t seem to understand that my dream was becoming a reality. I tried to make her understand but she kept saying it’s my illusion, so I hung up the call and decide to know what type of clothes my husband was hiding in his wardrobe and what would happen if I look at the mirror.
I wait for my husband to go out but he didn’t go out and he didn’t go to the bathroom or toilet without asking me to join him. He said it’s fun for husband and wife to always have their bath together and I didn’t refuse since we were newly married. He also refused to go out of the house without me. Anywhere he goes, he always take me with him. He said we will have a three months honeymoon before he will resume his work and everyday in the three months of our honeymoon, he always stay anywhere I am. He stopped me from going to work and he provides everything we need.
After the three months, he asked me to start going to his business place with him. He doesn’t allow me stay out of his sight. I tried several ways to sneak out of his sight and go check out what type of clothe is in his wardrobe and what would happen if I look at myself in the mirror but I never got the chance.
Sometimes I will intentionally forget something at home so I can use that as an excuse to go home alone and check out the wardrobe and mirror; sometimes I would lîe that I forgot something, but he will always go home with me or oblige to go get it by himself.
This habit continued for six years. And in this six years, I had already had my three kids; twin boys and a girl. And he doesn’t allow our kids come into our room or play towards his wardrobe and mirror anytime they stubbornly come in.
After seven years of living with Frank; having our three kids and trying all I could, to see what type of clothe he kept in his wardrobe and what would happen if I look at myself in his mirror and all was to no avail, I gave up on my quest but one night, I wake up and didn’t find my husband on the bed. I looked around and called out on him but he was nowhere to be found and his wardrobe and mirror were also gone. I didn’t see any trace of it in the room. Fear gripped me.
