(Slave To The Royals π§)
𧑠LOTANNA ROYAL’S POV π§‘
I watch in awe as wardrobe girl whose name happens to be Efua corners and tackles Father with her words, and I am almost forgetting that she has Kevwe at Knife point, but deep down I kind of know that Efua will not hurt her.
“So is that a deal King Majesty” She asks Father with so much boldness.
“it is” Father replies.
“And if anyone tries to kill me?”
“They would be eliminated”
“I’m holding to your word King Majesty” She releases Kevwe and raises the knife up to her own face, she looks straight at me and it is like she is questioning me with her eyes piercing into mine. I hold her gaze and she looks away.
“Show is over warriors, escort your King and his family back to their chambers and I think I should be escorted too as I do not know my way around here” Efua says with a flick of her long hair.
“Uza come with me” Father says and begins to leave. The warriors bow in curtesy and also disperse with Efua trailing behind them. Now it is just I, Kevwe and Dubem left on the training ground. kevwe then turns to me with glaring eyes.
“Tanna, you lied to me ehn? Didn’t I ask if you knew her?” She states with an hint of anger lacing her tone.
“Kevwe, I do not know her Ok” I reply, my eyes still trained on Efua’s retreating self.
“Then why is she putting on your dress?”
“Kevwe I don’t wanna talk, just go on inside and assure Mother that you are okay” I snap and turn back while retracing my steps back to thr main palace with Dubem and Kevwe following behind.
“What if Father finds out?”
I stop. “What?!”
“If you do not tell me how she got your clothes, I am going to tell Father you harbored a prisoner in your chambers.
Oh Kevwe, Why are you this problematic ehn?
“Is that a threat?”
Kevwe shrugs. “If you can call it that, now won’t you tell me anything?”
“No I won’t” I reply and resume walking.
“Lotanna” Kevwe whines, pouting her lips. I roll my eyes, I won’t fall for that girl.
“You wanna threaten me ehn? How about I tell Father about your escapades with Efe the hunter’s son” I smirk at her and her eyes widens. “Wondering how I know even on my first day here? It is a secret little sister” I wink at her and walk away.
“Lotanna!” I claugh at the whiny sound of her voice.
“Have a nice day sister”
..
I take in a deep breath as I collapse on my bed, my eyes closed as I reminisce over everything that has happened today.
Efua. That girl intrigues me.
“Have you really met her before now?” I hear Dubem ask me. I open my eyes to see him standing by the door. He looks different now in his warrior clothes, Tch! I prefer the Dubem of the states.
“She practically broke into my room when she was being chased, I didn’t know who she was so I let her rest and gave her my shirt” I say in reply. Dubem nods.
“You did the right thing, I just hope His Majesty does not get a wind of it”
I roll my eyes and sit up. “That’s the least of my problems now, what is bothering me is that Father says I’m getting married to Dera. You remember Dera don’t you?” I say.
“I do, but you cannot go against your Father’s wish because of a feud, you have to do as he says.”
I scoff. “You know Dubem, I liked you better when we were in the US”
Dubem chuckles. “You only liked me because I agreed with you on everything ou said or did.
“My point exactly, Now you are less likeable. Should we go back?”
“Have a good rest My Prince and stop being an ass” Is Dubem’s reply to me even though the last part is said in a whisper. I pick up my flops and throw it at him in mock anger.
“Get the fvck out of my room Dubem” I snap playfully.
“I’m out already Prince Lotanna” He replies with a chuckle and walks out.
𧑠EFUA KELECHI’S POV π§‘
I feel so accomplished as I follow them into the warrior’s quarters, whether byy crook or whatever way you may call it, I was able to subdue the most feared King of the eastern Islanders for about twenty to twenty five minutes. Isn’t that a subject for history. I skip along, humming as I move with them.
“You had better watch your back maiden, because no one is going to like you in there” One of the warriors says to me.
I look at him, a smirk playing on my lips. “What is your name warror?” I ask ignoring his statement.
He seems surprised, he blinks and looks straight anead without answering me. I decide to pull his legs. ” Hey warrior, have you suddenly become dumb or do you not have a name?”
He stops and looks at me, bites his lips and then shakes nis head. “I do not want to like you maiden, but you are making it so difficult by being so intrestingly amusing”
I laugh. “So won’t you tell me your name already warrior?”
“Tari is the name”
I place my hands over his neck, standing on my toes though. “Tari.. Don’t you think we would be very good friends ehn?”
Tari raises his brow at me. “You do not leave me with a choice Efua” He replies. I chuckle lightly and follow him in.
Did they not say keep your friends close and your enemies closer? I just got started Royalies.
