(Slave To The Royals π§)
𧑠LOTANNA ROYAL’S POV π§‘
“We are here My Prince” The maid mutters shakily as she brings me to the stables. I turn to her and give her my charming smile, her eyes widens and she blinks stepping back.
“Thanks for your help eh….?”
“Iwemosa… My name is Iwemoisa”
I grin at her. “You may leave now Iwemoisa” I say and she bows.
“I do not think you can leave the palace now, Lotanna”
“What?” I turn at Kevwe voice behind me. “What are you talking about?”
“Father wants to speak with you” she tells me and i groan inwardly.
“I just arrived, I thought he was going to let me rest for a day or two…. What does he wanna talk about now?”
“You look like you’ve had enough rest Lotanna, seeing as you want to take a ride out of the palace grounds… And as for what he wants to talk about… I have no idea”
I scowl playfully at her “can you see that you are useless Kevwe, how will you have no idea ehn?”
“Shut up boy, at least I’m more useful than you on a scale of one to ten” she says sticking out her tongue at me and immediately runs away, her laughter ringing.
I cackle and follow her wondering what Father wants to talk about and praying that the wardrobe girl does not get caught.
“You are here” Father says ad I enter into his chambers.
“Father” I crouch down on one knee, my other knee up and my right hand against my forehead as a sign of curtsey.
“May you live long my son… Have a seat”
“Yes Father” I reply and sit down.
“Obaseki, can we get some privacy?” Father says to the guard behind him. Obaseki bows in reply and leaves with his colleagues.
“This has to be a very serious matter for the guards to be excused and Father nods.
” it is Lotanna.. It is” he says in reply.
“And what is about?”
“Your marriage”
I blink, hoping I didn’t hear right. “Sir?”
“You heard me Lotanna, you are getting married” Father repeats.
Okay… This has to be the worst news of all news I have heard in all twenty five years of my life.
Like what the fvck dies he mean that I’m getting married? This old man has to be kidding me.
“Um… And who am I getting married to?”
“The merchant’s daughter, Dera”
My eyes widens in shock “Dera!”
“Dera!” I turn at Kevwe”s voice as she steps inside.
“Kevwe! Were you eavesdropping on out conversation?” Father asks her sternly.
Kevwe shakes her head. “I wasn’t eavesdropping Father, I only came to relay to you when I heard Dera”
“What Message” Father asks.
“Why is Dera included in you’d discussion with brother.. Don’t tell me..” She pauses and turns to me. “Wait.. Are you getting married to Dera?”
“At least that the latest news I’ve heard” I reply with a shrug ”
“What! I hate Dera! You can’t get married to her!”
“My point exactly… Father Dera isn’t the type of maiden I would like to marry” I say truthfully.
I have never liked Dera… Even mother and Kevwe hates her to the core. Why would Father then want me to marry her. Dera was my childhood friend until she did the worst a friend wouldn’t do… I hated her since then.
“You two had better shut your mouth before I do it for you… Lotanna you will get married to Dera and nobody else. . she is my choice for you and you will do as I say” Father snaps.
“Father!”
“Now Kevwe, I will forgive your insolent act of barging into my chambers with not as much as a knock but it better not repeat itself again”
“yes father” Kevwe mutters.
“Good.. What message do you bring?”
“The prisoner has been caught” Kevwe says and I stand instantly.
“What!”
Father and Kevwe turns to me. “Are you okay? What is the sudden reaction about?” Father asks staring at me. I blink, composing myself. They shouldn’t know I met her.
“Ah… I’m just surprised a female escaped.. You know” I reply easing my fingers over the base of my neck.
“It doesnt seem that way to me”
“Kevwe shut up” i snap at her and she raises her brow at me in a manner that says. ‘You can’t hide from me’ I roll my eyes at her.
“But Father, there is something else” Kevwe says.
“Still about the prisoner?” Father asks.
“Still about the prisoner” Kevwe affirms and my ears perk up.
“What about her?” I find myself asking.
“Wait, nobody told you the prisoner was a she” Kevwe stares at me, raising her brow again.
“Kevwe talk to me and stop picking on your brother” Father says. I stick out my tongue at her.
“Well the prisoner made a deal with the head of guards”
“She made a deal? Why would they let her do that?”
“Duh….Because she won’t let them take her if she is not granted it, she is ready to go willingly if she gets to duel with four of our warriors and loose but if she wins, she gets an open discussion with us”
What. The. Fvck is wardrobe girl doing? A sue with four warriors? In that state she is? She’s gat to be kidding me.
“Where is she?” Father asks.
“At the training ground of the palace guards”
I look at Kevwe and Father. “Shouldn’t we get going?”
“You are too intrested in this prisoner girl, do you know her somewhere”
“Kevwe shut up!” I snap as we follow father out. Wardrobe girl, I hope you know what you are doing!
