👫💞 The Other Woman Episode Twenty THREE:
“I’m only human, sometimes I make mistakes…” Joe began to sing in a very sorrowful voice, kneel walking after his wife as she tried to move away, crying as he sang.
“Joe, you will leave me alone! You will stop touching me, and you will quit playing the pity party right now. I’m the victîm here!” Nkem told him.
“No baby, I’m the greater victîm here. Not only have I been tricked into this heîst, I’m the pawn in this messy and blōõdy game, your collaboration with Mandy brought.
“And though this game hurts me so deep that I have been fo0led, it hurts deeper to know that you have been at the receiving end of it all, and that I, Joe, have been an instrument of pàin to you!” Joe said, sobbing like a baby.
“Please my love, you know I’ll die if I can’t have you forgive me for all the wrongs I’ve done to you” he told her, and got her laughing cynically.
“No Joe, you have been doing perfectly well without me, and you will certainly keep doing great without me.
“Your sëx life even took such a drastic turn, that you could be banging all day, not caring that I watched or not.
“You found so much joy in her companionship that you could even ask me out of our home, because the little bràt needed you all to herself.
“Joe, you could have hit me if Jackie hadn’t been very fast with her intervention.
“And my dear Joe, where would you have found me to apologize to, if you had succeeded in pushing me down, as you planned to in the hospital, and made me lose this gift God chose to wipe my tears with?
“Do you think I would have survived it if you had with your own hands made me lose this child?
“Joe you raised your hands on me!” Nkem screàmed, crying hysterically, herself.
“I’m sorry my love. I feel like dyïng now when I look back at all that I have done
“And it makes me so sure that I don’t deserve you any more, but what about my son?
“What about all the plans and promises of raising our children in love, to show them just how they should live?
“Please baby, Mandy did all she did, Farida collaborated with her, but I goofed big time because I was caught unawares.
“I failed you, failed our love, and the promises we made each other. I should have been a better person, but I guess, I’m not so great.
“And that’s why I need you to look at me with tenderness and compassion, and remember our promise to be together forever, no matter what.
“I deviated from the path, but if you let me wander on like this, what becomes of the blessing God has chosen to endue us with?
“Does that child deserve to also suffer for my atrôcities? Please my dear, do not call me husband again, do not allow me into the space you’ve always created for me, but don’t just leave me outside.
“It’s so freàking cold outside, and all I’m asking is that you shield me from the cold and pain of the betrayàls and êvïl schemings
“Please save me from the dàngers that looms so brazenly, yet so covertly. Forgive me my love, my child deserves to have his father alive” Joe told his wife.
“But you hūrt me too much, I don’t know how I’ll be able to have you in my life again” Nkem said, wiping the tears on her face with the back of her palm, and walked over to sit down on a couch near her.
Joe knew he was beginning to score a point, and moved closer to her, still on his knees, held her hand and noticed that she didn’t push away again.
“Leave me alone” she said, hitting him on his chest, so lightly, it could be mistaken for caress.
“I’m sorry baby, please give me a chance to right my wrongs. Let me hold you, and together, we can fïght our common enèmy” Joe said, changing his position to a squat, and letting his hands rest on her thighs.
He noticed that she just covered her face and continued crying, but didn’t push him away, so he got up, and sat besides her.
He placed his right hand across her shoulder and pulled her to himself, and when she didn’t resist, Joe knew he was just a few steps from his destination.
“But, what are we going to do?” Nkem asked, looking at her husband, angry with herself that she can’t remain màd at him for too long, especially when he was so close to her.
Joe let his jaw rest lightly on her head, breathing in the smell of her ever enchanting hair conditioner, and recalling how in love he has always been with his woman.
“You just forget about those people right now ònyè Nkèm (My own), Mandy and Farida are going to wish they weren’t born when I’m done with them” he told her, and got her heaving a sigh of relief.
He told her he was going to make a master plan that was bound to make the two most dêspicable people he has seen on earth pay for their crímes.
“But for your safety and to ensure that my mother isn’t also hurt, I’m going to keep acting like I haven’t found out about what they have been doing
“I’ll have to keep making them believe they’re still in control, until they’re suddenly pulled from the exalted and unmerited place they have placed themselves.
“Believe me baby, even in Mandy’s next life, she won’t as much as try to be a quarter as êvïl as she has been so far” Joe told his wife.
“And thank you for finding a place in your heart to forgive me.
“Thank you so much for still considering to let us have our lives again!” Joe said, making attempts to kiss her.
“Erm Joe, you know you’ll give me some time to get used to you being around me again.
“I have kind of gotten used to not having you around, and it’s going to take some time to recall that we’re now back together” Nkem said, pulling back.
Joe felt his heart contract in pains, but he knew he had a lot of work to do before he’d be able to get his wife back to where they used to be.
“It’s okay baby, I’ll allow you all the time you want right now, but you know I can’t stay without you in my arms.
“I love you Nkem, and I know my love for you will help us out of this in totality” he told her, hugging her still.
He was still talking with her when his phone began to ring.
Farida was calling to know why he was yet to return from visiting his mum.
“Hello my love, I was talking with my mum, trying to be sure she’s okay and safe.
“I don’t know why I still feel that this plan of having my mother stay with that woman is okay. It would have been better to let her come home.
“Don’t you think I should let her come with me? I was talking to her about returning home with me, before you called, but my sister was insisting that having her return home with me, could make her remember what she’s trying to forget.
“But what the heck? What if she remembers?” Joe asked Farida, and she nearly choked on her spittle.
“No no no Joe, you can’t make her come back to the house, you must not make her remember, that won’t be good at all” Farida said.
“Farida? Is everything alright? You’re sounding kind of strange” Joe told her.
“Erm you know what I mean Joe. The doctor was specific about not making her to remember in a hurry.
“So I think you should allow her stay where she is for now. But please do not let that woman get close to you.
“You know I’m too jealous to shàre; I don’t want her anywhere close to you” she told Joe.
“Oh please stop it at once! If you were a man, would you ever think of getting close to the woman that cheated on you and got pregnant for another?” he asked her, making Farida give her mother a high five at the other side.
“I’m coming home soon my dear. Please take care of yourself and most importantly, my son” he said, before he hung up.
“Now please go home, go now, or Mandy would begin to suspect that something is going on, remember that you can’t call me when you want, to avoid getting caught, but please update me with what’s going on via mail constantly.
“And please Joe, you’ve got to watch out, Mandy is very viciôus, and from what I can see, she’ll stop at nothing to get what she wants.
“Please be safe for us” Nkem said, giving him a really warm and tight hug, before he made his way out of the house.
“Tell my mother I had to run” he told her as he was about to step out if the door, and blew her a kiss.
