👫💞 The Other Woman Episode Sixteen:
Farida and Mandy sat outside the hospital, thinking about the turn of events. Mandy knew how dångerous it would be for the old woman to wake up and tell the things she had been told.
“What are we going to do now mum? I don’t know why that êvïl woman had to show up when she did, just to come and spoil things for us.
“You should have just stràngled her instead of waiting for her to dïe by suffôcation” Farida told her mother, looking very worried
“Relax Farida, it’s just going to cost us more, but I’ll surely get that woman deåd before the end of today.
“There’s no way I’m letting her live after all she heard. She will surely have to dïe because I can’t afford to go back to pöverty, I won’t let it happen” Mandy assured her daughter.
“Also mum, since we’re now sure that, that woman is pregnant, shouldn’t we do something about her?
“I don’t know why I have the feelings that she’d soon take Joe back.
“If he gets to know that she’s pregnant for him, that would be the end of us, whether he believes he is responsible for my pregnancy or not!” Farida said worriedly
“You’re still a child Farida, that’s why you can imagine that I, Mandy, would leave such loopholes. Joe will never agree that she’s pregnant for him, that I can assure you
“I do not intend on do anything about her for now, but I need to find whoever is in charge of the hospital’s CCTV footages and do the needful, before Joe gets serious about finding who did what I did” Mandy told her daughter and got up to leave.
“It’s okay mum, I’ll go and find him, and make sure he doesn’t believe you could do such a thing, even if he sees you in the footage.
“I have to make him believe that Nkem had been fighting to find a way to kïll his mother” Farida told her mother.
Farida walked into the private ward to find Joe looking worriedly at his mother who was still unconscious.
She made to sit on the bed where Joe made space for her, but one of the nurses on duty asked her to please step away from the bed.
“What’s the meaning of that? How can you ask me away from my mother-in-law’s sides when she’s in such a critical state?
“Joe, are you going to sit and watch a mere nurse insult me this way?” Farida asked, shaking with ãnger.
“I’m sorry ma’am, but as it stands now, even your husband can’t decide who stays here, because this mere nurse is incharge right now
“I’ve been ordered to ensure that no relative or friend is allowed anywhere close to the patient, aside his son here, who brought her to the hospital.
“So, I’ll ask you politely to step out now, or I’ll be calling the hospital security to do the needful” the nurse said calmly.
Farida looked at Joe, and was shocked that he wasn’t making any move to stop the nurse from throwing her out of the room.
“Joe, why do I have to always suffer for Nkem’s misdeeds? She tried to kïll your mother and because of that, I’m now barred from staying around to know how my mother in-law is doing!
“In what way did I offend that êvïl and ever scheming woman to deserve all the pains she’s causing me?” Farida spat, looking so àngry and offended.
“It’s okay baby, please step out and save us the ëmbarrassment of the nurse calling the security.
“Like she said, I do not have the authority to decide what happens here any longer because the doctor has made it clear that the only decision I can make right now is to get my mother away from their hospital, and you know how risky that can be.
“I’ll be with you shortly” Joe told her, trying to sound as gentle as he could, to ensure she moved out and didn’t create more noise when he was waiting anxiously for his mother to regain consciousness.
“I see! So much for a husband who knows how to take care of his wife!” Farida said, and marched out of the room.
She saw her mother up after waiting for about thirty minute in her car.
“The CCTV footages has been cleared. I told you Farida, I’m always a step ahead of that dumbàss” Mandy boasted as soon as she sat in the passenger’s seat of her daughter’s car.
“You don’t mean it! How were you able to achieve that? In this hospital where everyone acts so holy and duty conscious, you were able to pull that off?” Farida asked her mother in complete shock.
“Everyone has a price Farida. The cråzy tech guy didn’t want all the money I offered him, but couldn’t resist me when I offered my body.
“We had it raw and quick, and he glitched the footage for that particular ward and a few others, to avoid raising suspicion when they saw the issues with the footages.
“He told me he already sent a report to the management about the problem with the CCTV for those wards before I left his office” Mandy said, chewing the gum in her mouth carelessly.
“Mum! Did you have to go that far? Did it not matter to you if that guy could infect you with a terrible disease?
“And didn’t you feel ashamed to have a small boy bànging you so casually?” Farida asked her mother.
“Don’t be stupîd Farida. What disease is more dreàdful than poverty? Or are you saying you can’t tell how mïserable we will suddenly be if Joe finds out that you’re not pregnant for him?
“Do you not know that I’ll surely got to prison if they lay their hands on that footage?
“And what do you mean by being ashamed to have sëx with a boy younger than me?
“Do you think the good sèx that active young man gave me is a shàme? Well, if that is your definition of shàme, then I’ll like to know what you call what we would have faced if Joe had found out everything about what we have done to him and Nkem” Mandy said.
Farida shrugged and let things be. She had always known that her mother didn’t have a bottom line, but jumping to bed with a little boy, just for something that may not matter after all, made her worry about how dìrty she could go.
“So what next? What are we going to do to ensure that mama doesn’t wake up to tell what she saw and heard?” Farida asked.
“Leave that to me Farida. As long as Joe doesn’t pass the night in the ward tonight, this new boyfriend of mine, would be an asset to me
“I’ll surely get that woman crossing over to the other side before the break of a new day. All you have to do is ensure that Joe goes home tonight” Mandy said.
And so, the mother and daughter agreed that Joe had to go home that night to ensure that Mandy carried out her plans before the woman woke up and spoilt everything for them.
Farida called Joe from home and told him how sick she was and how he needed to get home to her immediately, or she’d dïe with his child.
Joe was complaining about his dilemma in the hospital, and the nurse on duty told him he really didn’t have to stay back for the night.
“Sir, you don’t have to worry about Mama. We have been instructed to take absolute care of her and sit awake until she regains consciousness, so even if you’re not here, she’ll be as safe as she oughts to be” the nurse said.
Joe smiled in happiness and made a mental note to reward the management of the hospital for such care and seriousness.
He rushed home to find Farida shaking under a duvet and spent some time trying to calm her down.
Farida complained of cold and inability to eat since she left the hospital, asking Joe to cook two different types of meals that she ended up not eating.
Meanwhile, back in the hospital, Mandy’s new boyfriend had walked up to the ward to place what Mandy asked him to place, on the old woman’s face.
“Hello nurse Bella, I’m here to take a look at what happened to the cameras in this ward” the CCTV guy said.
