π The One I Called Friend Episode TEN:
Simi walked out of her car slowly, she was still trying to believe that her husband who had been away for seven years was back. Before she could say anything, her son asked her a question.
Toun: Mommy, who is this?
Simi: Yo……..ur d…….ad
Toun: (became excited and ran to hug his father) Daddy!!!
Yinka: (embraces his son emotionally amidst tears) See my son! He was a baby when I saw him last. I missed you, so much.
Simi couldn’t stop tearing up where she stood, as she watched both father and son embrace each other emotionally, she wept more. She left the duo and went into the room where she knelt beside the bed and continued weeping. At that point, she didn’t understand why she was crying, she just found herself crying.
She suddenly looked up the moment she felt a hand on her shoulder, she saw Yinka kneeling beside her.
Yinka: My wife, I am sorry for all that happened. Tonia brought a flask of food to my office with the claim that you sent her. The Holy Spirit whispered to me not to eat food but I did because I felt you can’t hurt me. After eating the food, I had a strong urge to sleep with her and before I knew what was happening, I had sex with her right in my office.
Simi: Jesus!
Yinka: I came to my senses the moment I had ejaculated but I couldn’t reverse the situation. I tried to tell you what transpired between us but I couldn’t, I was afraid that hell would be let loose if I did.
Simi: You should have informed me, we would have destroyed her plans through prayers.
Yinka: She brought another flask of food the following day and commanded me to eat it, I didn’t know what came over me, I obeyed her again. The next thing was that I found myself in Canada with her. She claimed we got married and have two sons together. Simi, please forgive me, my life is a mess and I don’t know how to fix it.
Simi: I was told you resigned.
Yinka: I was under serious manipulation. If I had obeyed the nudging of the Holy Spirit, I wouldn’t have fallen into the pit she dug for me.
Simi: You have two boys with her.
Yinka: I am not sure, I don’t even know what to say. What if they are not mine, I will need a DNA test to prove that I am their father.
Simi: (wipes her tears) They are yours, first you had sex with her, second, they look so much like you. They look so much like Toun.
Yinka: My life is in a mess, I just need God to have mercy on me. How on earth would I have resigned from a job where I am being paid seven hundred thousand naira per month? How?
Simi: (crying) I caused this for us, only if I knew how to close my mouth, only if I understood that not everyone who claims to love me truly does. But then, I have learned my lesson in a hard way. God will restore all we’ve lost, I believe that.
Yinka: I am very sorry, my wife. I am sorry for all the troubles you went through, I am sorry for not being there when you and Toun needed me.
Simi: it’s fine. Welcome back home, my husband. I missed you so much.
Simi led her husband in songs of praise and together, they asked God for forgiveness and further asked for His divine intervention in their home.
Mrs. Mike: How dare you, Tonia? Why did you let him out of your net? How dare you waste my efforts?
Tonia: I am sorry, Mom. I didn’t know how he got the bottle.
Mrs. Mike: So, where is he?
Tonia: I don’t know, mom. His lines are not going through and he isn’t at work. I hope he hasn’t gone back to that witch.
Mrs. Mike: I sense that he is with her.
Tonia: Mommy, I will fight for my man. I will not be on the losing end, Yinka is for me.
Mrs. Mike: Are you sure you can give it what it takes?
Tonia: Mommy, I am ready. I can’t lose him now, not when I am pregnant with my third child.
Mrs. Mike: I will send someone to check if he is with Simi, then, I will ask you to come back to Nigeria. We will fight the battle here in Nigeria.
Tonia: Thank you, mom. I love you so much.
Mrs. Adepoju: Congratulations daughter, I am so happy for you. Thank God for the victory. I hope you are taking good care of him. You need to spoil him with love and care so that he won’t think about the other woman.
Simi: Hmm, Mommy, I am doing my best but I still bring myself to have sex with him.
Mrs. Adepoju: Are you okay, at all? It’s like you want me to come to Nigeria and give you a deafening slap.
