π«π The Man I Met Part Six:
The pastor saw me struggling to speak without being able to say a word and he instantly knew what was happening. He started praying again. While he prayed, he reached for the anointing oil on his table and started marking me with God’s ownership. He proclaimed me the property of the Supreme God as he rubbed the anointing oil on my forehead, the back of my palms and on my feet. He proclaimed that my life is hidden in Christ Jesus and Jesus in God, therefore no altar can claim ownership over me.
The junior pastor came in some moments later and joined in the prayer. After a while of praying, the pastor gave me some of the anointing oil to drink and I did. They continued praying and I found out I could say Amen to the prayers. I could talk again. They prayed for some more minutes and stopped. The pastor asked me if I wanted to be saved by God. I answered yes multiple times and he asked me who I pledged my soul to.
Immediately I opened my mouth to talk, I started dying again. My head started pounding and life was draining out of my body speedily. I became extremely weak and my body was collapsing. All I could say was ‘dogs’. My eyes were flickering and shutting on their own and I lost connection with everything around me. Just before my eyes shut the final time, I saw the giant dog in the doorway. Then I died.
I died literally. The pastor confirmed it. When life came back into me, I heard the pastor making an emotional cry onto God. He was crying bitterly while he talked to God. He knelt beside me with his hands on my chest and his tears dropping on my body. He was begging God to resurrect me. He told God that he didn’t lead me to him to allow me die on his watch. He told God that letting me die was not part of their agreement. He challenged God to bring me back to life if he was truly the one who called him to serve.
All these he said while I’d resurrected but was still in a deep tiredness. Then I opened my eyes and beheld the pastor. He was not as he was before I died. He didn’t instantly know I’d woken up as he shut his eyes talking to God. I scanned his body. Brethren, he was a mess. He looked like someone who fought a lion. There were deep scratches all over his body and his cloths were so shredded that his nakedness was almost showing.
His face was torn in many places and there was blood on his lips. His appearance was disturbing. When he realized I was alive again, he sat on the floor tiredly and started giving praises and thanksgiving to God. He was very physically exhausted. I sat up and looked around. I saw the junior pastor sitting in a corner with his back against the wall. He looked no better than the senior pastor.
His body took some beatings as well and his cloths were torn. He had a Bible on the floor beside him and he was physically immobilized. He broke a hip bone. I later learned that the coven of dogs came into the room just when I died and battled the pastors in the physical. They inflicted those injuries on the pastor before they were defeated. The senior pastor also told me he saw my coming to the church days before I came. He said he was waiting for me and that was why he jumped onto my case immediately I arrived.
When I woke up, the senior pastor led me to Christ. Even in his beat condition, he completed the task. He led me through a prayer, denouncing any pledge or promises I made to any altar that was not of God knowingly or unknowingly, and proclaiming myself a property of God and an instrument of his glory. He said the powers of darkness were able to have access over my life because I verbally pledged myself to them. The power of the tongue is stronger than we know.
After the prayers of consecrating myself to God, we all sat there exhausted until the church’s medical team arrived. It was a huge event in the church and pastors from other parishes were invited to pray for me and the pastors. It was an intense prayer period which lasted for three days. I didn’t go home for the three days as the senior pastor insisted I must stay until the completion of the prayer march.
It was after the prayers that I told the pastor about all that happened between me and the coven of demonic dogs and how my salvation started with the man of light. He kept quiet all while I was narrating my ordeal and when I was done, he said “you are one of those he chose to show mercy and that is the only reason you a still here. Watch out. Your ministry just began”.
He also advised me never to stop praying. He said that people with my type of ministry are threats to the devil and the powers of darkness and they will never stop trying to put me down. But I didn’t need to be told. I’d experienced the powers of darkness and the importance of prayer. I’d realized that praying is not a choice but a must. If I don’t pray, Satan will make mess of me. So, I must pray. You must too.
Since after the attack in the pastor’s office, I haven’t set my eyes on the man I met again. It’s been two years and counting and I haven’t seen him anywhere. But I’m ready for him and whatever he serves. I’m ready for Satan and his agents in this world. I’ve equipped myself with the armor and words of God and I have the Man of light firmly behind me. His sword of fire ready to slash the devil and his disciples. I belong to God.
Brethren, I share this story here to give you a true insight of how the devil works and how far he can go to achieve his plans. He is never resting and the only antidote we have for his antics, deceits and manipulations is prayers. That is why the Bible tasks us to pray without ceasing. Prayer is the only effective weapon we have against the devil. So we MUST PRAY.
I hope you learned a thing or two from this story. May God help us all. Amen.
