After my good neighbour married Precious, two among those 3 ladies stopped calling and visiting my neighbour except the 3rd lady.
She would call my neighbour, morning afternoon and night not minding he was now a married man. Sometimes she even take a risk and visit him at his working place and sometimes at home, when precious had gone out.
As usual, my neighbour sought my advice and I told him to make peace with her. Like, I mean he should call her and meekly explain to her that he is now a married man and she should move on with her life.
My neighbour called her on phone to meekly explain things to her but she updated, saying she was coming over.
A few minutes she stormed our compound. She entered at the same time with papa-Emeka, my other neighbour, blurting: “Why would you tell me you are married! Why did you marry someone else, not me!”
She heads to my neighbour’s door and started banging it.
Papa-Emeka and I were the only ones in the yard so we went to rescue our neighbour.
“Young lady, calm down” Papa-Emeka intrude. By then, my good neighbour was already out of his room.
“Don’t Tell me to calm down! Anthony had the mind to marry another lady, not me! After all the investments I’ve done for him! About nine investments; two in Asaba; two in Kano and five here in this town! How will I leave all investments?”
At this point, Papa-Emeka gave me a demeanour that meant ‘if this lady had nine investments for our neighbour, how come he’s still leaving in this kind of our compound and sharing the same toilet with us? He’s supposed to be leaving a rich man’s life; abi na him brain dey pain am?
“Abeg, what investments?” Papa-Emeka asked curiously.
“All the con*dom and sex style, I’ve given him”
