“Mummy said she’d call back, it’s late now” Anna pouted as she entered Bryan’s room. Bryan sat up when she entered.

“Are you okay?” he asked and she shook her head climbing the bed sitting opposite him.
“Mummy didn’t call back” she muttered and Bryan almost rolled his eyes, oh she was just a three year old kid.. So she’d wanna hold Iris to her word.
“Hey, they’re returning tomorrow right?” he asked stroking her hair trying to lighten her mood, Anna just stared at him.
“Instead of brooding, why don’t you go to sleep and think of all the places you could go with your mummy.. Remember she would want you to sleep” Bryan said and Anna’s eyes brightened when she thought of Megan
“I would go see my Auntie Megan” she smiled and Bryan stayed quiet for a while before nodding.
“Now go to bed” he forced a smile at her and she scurried out of the bed rushing to her room
Bryan sighed.. He needs to go visit Megan and apologize, maybe if he hadn’t told her father of her whereabouts then his mother wouldn’t have tried killing her.
Speaking of his mother, her court hearing was just two days away.. He hadn’t told Bradley, he wasn’t even sure if he would like to see their mother..

Maxwell stared at the pictures in his phone, they were pictures of Iris..unaware pictures.

“When would I see you again? I know you’re close by” he muttered and tossed his phone aside.
He was gonna return to the apartment tomorrow morning, he was quite sure she lived there..

“Mummy!” Anna screamed when she saw Iris climbed down the car. She’d been waiting at the door with Bryan since morning and she was more than happy that her mom is back.
She would get to go back to school, meet Auntie Megan and everything would go back to being normal though she would miss Bryan
Iris opened her arms widely and the little girl ran into it, she hugged her tight crouching to her height..
“How are you baby?” Iris asked and Anna gave her a toothy smile.
“I missed you” she muttered hugging Iris tighter. Iris’s eyes met with Bradley who was staring at the both of them quietly.
She looked away quickly and broke the hug before standing up Anna was tugging at her hand. She smiled at the girl before walking inside, she smiled lightly at Bryan who was grinning widely.
Bradley stood still watching the both of them walk in with his supposed brother who only gave him a nod.
It’s still hard to believe he has a daughter and the more he thinks about it, the more real it becomes.

“Let’s go your Auntie Megan then we return home ” Iris said as she dressed Anna up.
“But is nice here, Bryan was nice” Anna said and Iris bit her lower lip. She can’t stay here not when she knows Bradley is Anna’s dad.
He didn’t even say anything when she told him about Anna.. Maybe it’s a sign that he doesn’t want them.
She’s used to taking care of her daughter alone but somehow it hurts.. She just hope Megan is fine.
“We can’t stay Anna, Auntie Megan would be alone and you won’t want that” Iris said softly running her hands down Anna’s arms.
Anna pouted but then she nodded..

Just as she opened the door she saw Bradley standing with his hand in the air like he was bout knocking.

“You both leaving?” Bradley asked and Anna nodded.
“We’re going to visit Auntie Megan” she said and Bradley glanced at Iris who wasn’t saying anything.
“I thought we could talk” he muttered and Iris shook her head raising her eyes to his..
“There’s nothing to talk about.. Boss, we’ll be leaving tonight” she muttered and Bradley frowned.
“Why? You can’t..”
“We’ll be fine, it’s just a matter of time” she intercepted quickly and Bradley went quiet.
“We should get going” Iris muttered before walking past Bradley leaving him standing quietly…
Bradley shoved his fingers into his hair.. What he feared most was happening, she was slipping out of his hands..

Anna rushed to Megan hugging her tightly..

“Why are you in the hospital?” Anna asked and Megan glanced at Iris before returning her eyes back to Anna.
“I got sick sweetheart, it’s a shame your mum didn’t bring you earlier.. I’m getting discharged today” Megan said and Iris’s eyes widened.
“Really?” she asked but Megan pretended not to hear smiling at Anna.

Iris kept mute, she knew Megan was mad at her.. She was feeling really foolish already, leaving her best friend and going to Japan.
“We can all stay at Uncle Bryan’s house” Anna chirped and Iris almost cursed her. She was supposed to tell Megan that herself..
Megan’s eyes widened and she glanced at Iris.. again.
“Oh, tell me more” Megan said and Anna began ranting, she told Megan virtually everything and Iris wished she didn’t bring her along.
“Wow.. I was gone for..is it three days or four? And a lot happened” Megan said sarcastically and Anna smiled.
“I missed you” she hugged Megan again and Iris cleared her throat..
“Go sit over there Anna, I wanna talk to your Auntie Megan” Iris pointed at the chair at the end of the room.

Anna climbed down the bed rushing towards the chair..
Iris sat at the end of the bed, her hands clasped together..
“I was gone for three days and you now f**k your boss?” Megan fired immediately when Anna was out of earshot.
