π Pregnant For My Husband’s Driver CHAPTER TWO: π€°
I have seen many men but nobody ever acted like Westley. He was the best thing that happened to me. He gave me an over-comfortable duplex with the best colours and the spacious compound beautifully decorated with flowers of different colours. I had the latest cars in my garage with a fat account. Westley gave me everything. He was never disturbed about my childlessness. I knew countless times his mother and elder sister have pushed him to marry another wife, but he refused.
Westley was so addicted to me. My friends were envious the manner he displays his love. If there was something Westley didn’t give me, it was something I craved for, his presence. He was always out of there country. There was a time we only make love once in a year. He would fly abroad and return at the end of December. Most times when he returns, he will be too tired ti touch me. We hardly speak on phone as he prefers surprising me with his return.
Now he’s retuning tomorrow. He must know I’m pregnant but he mustn’t know he isn’t the father. I can’t bring myself to tell him I got pregnant by another man! I can’t!
I was losing my mind. Apollo drove me home. I alighted from the car and was hurrying in when Apollo called me.
“Genevieve, you’re pregnant. Congratulations”. Apollo said energetically with an ill smile dropping on his lips.
“Are you okay? Did you just call me by my name? Have you lost your respect?”. I snapped at him. He didn’t shake. He was standing ‘man-up’. I was taken-aback.
“It’s time you no go dey shout for me.”. He boldly stared at me with those words and turned back to the car. I stood mouth-ajar. My head ached. My bones shivered. Did my husband’s driver just disrespected me? I couldn’t swallow it. I walked up to him. I tapped his shoulders. He turned. I slapped him so hard that he held his cheeks in restraint.
“The next time you talk to me in that manner, you will regret the day you stepped your filthy feet into my husband’s compound!”. I turned sharply and angrily walked away. I noticed he stood speechless robbing his cheek.
I needed to talk to someone. I needed to confide in someone but who? I have friends but I don’t trust them. Jasmine and Lola have been my friends for years but ever since I got married, I kept my marriage affairs out of their ears. We only spoke on phone and rarely meet. Westley will be returning tomorrow. My fear know no bounds.
