The Murram road was dark and abandoned as I drove.It was drizzling as strong wind swirled the tall blue gum trees almost reaching their breaking point.I quickly branched to the Nairobi-Eldoret highway.
The tarmac road was clear since few cars and trucks were passing by as it was already dark.I quickly branched on my right side and hit the road to Eldoret,a maximum of four hour drive.
The car was full of reggae music that kept me company from being bored alone at the road.
Faith was busy arranging her clothes in the black suitcase,she had piled the clothes on the bed as she chose the clothes one by one the clothes that were faded,she threw it back to the wooden wardrobe,she had then ironed the the rest and arranged it neatly in the suitcase.
She was awake while arranging everything,she knew her father very well.The man was time conscious who would not allow her to waste time,so she arranged the clothes and the room very well as she listened to the bongo music that was playing in her phone.
That night she stayed awake until two am when she finally decided to force herself to sleep but she could not.Her stomach was groaning as if she were hungry since she was nervous,she didn’t want to travel to school at all but the thought of Mr Fayez had cooled her down,at least she will be having more time to spend with him, she had thought.
Fayez arrived at around one am,the streets of Eldoret was silent and abandoned except for the few cars and people who were still walking around.The beautiful town could be seen by the street lights that lightened the area.
He didn’t want to get to town so he followed the way and branched on his right at the junction where there was a big screen,he then went straight past kvda plaza then drove roughly a kilometer and branched at a rough road near Eldoret Prison to Juniorate center where he resided.The place was quiet and very dark.He was the only one driving in the muddy road.It was busy raining.He could see the prison guards who were on patrol.
He drove to the estate compound and the gateman had opened the door and after checking it was one of their residents he signalled another gateman who was tall and was dressed in his full uniform and a rain coat to open the gate,he drove then stopped the car and greeted the watchman.
“ Mr Fayez I see you are back,how was your weekend sir” the tall watchman had said.
“ It was very nice let me get a sleep I am really tired,we shall talk tomorrow Max”
“ Ok sir!” he said as I drove the car into apartment 7 where I resided then parked the car in the carport and walked into the house,prepared a cup of coffee and sat sipping it slowly by slowly since I was freezing.I went to sleep directly after I was done with the coffee since it was raining heavily.
