“Wow so you can cook? She asked
Without looking up, he replied, “Sau your good morning first”

He didn’t reply her but dish out the fired rice and chicken and take it to the dinning room to savour. Mara went after him….
“Why are you carrying only one plate? Is my own in the pot? She asked licking her lips at the sweet scent.
Xavier placed the food on the table and faced her sharply “who are you for me to cook for? He asked
Mara pouted like a cat “so you mean you kept me here to starve? She asked
“I didn’t keep you here, you came yourself”He Quipped
Mara was astounded “We’re chatting last night like friends how come you change your tone again? She asked “you promised to make my life miserable right? The let’s stay on that and sees who makes others miserable” He replied munching on his Chicken and gulping it down with cold orange juice.
Without relenting Mara proved on, “at least you’ll pity this poor orphan by giving me food and clothing”
Xavier dropped the spoon and looked at her “Hey miss Orphan did I invite you to my house? You said you wanted compesation by living with me and I allowed you, is it part of compensation that I feed and clothe you? He asked
“Yes! You should take care of all my needs or else I’ll go and take your clothes! She affirmed
“You’re able to take my clothes because I didn’t close my door but thanks to you I’ll lock my door”he replied
Mara gulped down in anger! ‘That bastard’ she thought.
Then she banged her hands on the table violently…. “Let’s do it! She said
“Do what? Do what again? You just made sentences without affirmation! He yelled
“I’ll live here, you’ll clothe me and feed me, then I’ll work for OUR STYLES FASHION GROUP”She said.
Xavier smiled “If I feed and clothe all the staffs in the company won’t I run into loss? He asked

“We live together! She said like an angry cat when she saw that Xavier had packed the plates and made to leave for the kitchen. She followed him. Then Xavier turned around.
“Hey Mara, stop using that Trump card, it’s expired, we don’t live together, you forced yourself to be here! He said
“Okay, I want compensation! She demanded
“How much? He replied
“Job and housing! She retorted. Xavier smirked and replied.
“Take one! Either you have the job and leave my house or Stay in my house without job, food and clothing! He explained. This time he’s done washing the plates. And he removed the gloves and left the kitchen for the sitting room. Mara tagged behind him.
“C’mon Xavier don’t be so wicked” She cooed
Xavier faced her. “Hey! You’re calling me name? How old are you? He asked
“I am 25! At Least I am older than your sister!

Xavier tuned and made to walk away and Mara wants to follow him, the slippers she was wearing clashed with the table leg and then sent her falling on Xavier.
Both of then landed to the floor with Mara on top of him. It was a standstill for sometime, I bet that scene could pass for a romantic movie.
Mara’s heart beat faster she was looking at him directly ‘Oh, he’s so handsome! His eyebrows are thick and dark and his nose is long and blessed and those plum lips… Ohhh it’s so pink! How I wish….I wish….’She thought on her mind looking at his facial Appearance.
The current atmosphere passed then they both stood up awkwardly. Mara stuttered
“I… I… You…” she can’t find what she wants to say while Xavier left her there without a word to go and prepare for office and Mara left for her room too.
She closed the door behind her “Shame on you Mara!!! Did you just blush? Did you just crush on that bastard near freak? Ohhh I must be out of my senses! Did my heart just beat fast? She asked and touched her chest, her heart was still beating fastly. “Arrgh, Mara I made fool of myself, what Handsomeness? His family killed my mother! I am not here to crush, I am here to kill him! She retorted and went back to the bathroom.
He closed the door behind him and touched his chest, it was beating more than the normal heartbeat “what’s this? Did my heart just beat? For Mara? I mean that dirty lady? Ohhh this is not true! He murmured the stopped at some point “ohhh, don’t tell me…. Arrgh, it can’t be! Me? Love? Mara? As in Mara of all people? That cannot be ? It can never be! Yes! They both opened the door thesame time, Mara looked up, he looked down, their eyes were locked in staring competition for some moments then they both faced back and return to their rooms.
“I am in soup! My heart is beating again! That jeark? Never ! Mara reassured herself and came out, she was now wearing the dress she wore the first day they met.
“Mara that messy girl! What did she do to make my heart beat? Ohhh this is crazy! He came out too after scolding himself for sometime.
As he made for the door, Mara stopped him, “hey you haven’t made any plans for me? She asked
“I’ll feed you and cloth you, everything will be deducted from your salary, I’ll let you stay here as the compesation! Xavier said all in one breath.
“Then when are my resuming work? What will I eat this morning and what clothes? She asked
“The food I made is remaining, and I’ll send you some money to get yourself some clothes and you must come to the company by 10am for interview, if you fail the interview you’ll lose the job! He said and close the door behind him.
“Ohhh…oh… That crazy jerk….”she exclaimed then her phone beeped and a text message came in….
“I’ve sent you the money, get some clothes and come join me at the office”The text reads
“Where did he get my number? That bastard!!
Mara sent the money and address to Lisa and Angela, it’s just 7:30 am so she still got alot of time.
After some minutes, Angela and Lisa came but unfortunately the brought Dawn and Charles with them.
“What a nice house you get to live in Mara, or should I come and join? Lisa asked
“If the owner of the house is as nice as the house it will be good” She said.
Her friends had brought alot of clothes, and sme beer, they made for the dinning and eat all the remaining food and drank some beer
“It’s 9 am I have class! Dawn complained and everyone left with him.
Mara being little tipsy grunted, “those crazy children, they purposely left so that they won’t do the dishes” then called them
“Hey punks! Who’ll clean the dishes that you used? She asked while her friends laughed.
She checked the time, it’s 9am indeed which means she had 1hour left to prepare. Being little tipsy she slumped to the chair and slept off.
