π§ My Daughter My Wife Episode TEN: π«
That night, after Madonna finished the bread and butter to her satisfaction, she sent me to the heavenlies as usual before we went to bed.
I kept wondering how my life would have been if I didnβt marry Madonna. What would I have done if after the first day we made love, she decided to get herself a boyfriend, and shut me out, keeping me aware that someone else was getting all the pleasure I should be having, and a cold shivers ran down my spine.
“No, that won’t even happen! I won’t let it happen for any reason” I found myself soliloquizing, even when nobody asked me to leave her.
I pulled her closer to me as I began to feel sleepy, I didnβt want to wake up to find her gone from me and have me staying without her in my bed for even a day.
When I woke up the next day, I was glad to notice that Madonna was still sleeping by my sides, holding tightly to my body, and making her youthful body glue to mine in the warmest of sleeping hugs.
I kissed her lightly on her cheeks and rushed to the kitchen to get her the things I knew sheβd ask for, the moment she woke up.
Rushing off to work without preparing those things would also mean nothing good for me, because I would ultimately run back to attend to her needs, so even though I was running late, I had to prepare a feast-like breakfast for her, before I left home.
βGod knows I warned you people about these fatty things youβre feeding a young girl of her age that is pregnant the first time, but you two chose to keep up with what youβre doing.
βPosterity will be extremely harsh on you two if you ever say you were not toldβ my mother told me when I bumped into her, on my way out of the kitchen.
βEkaΓ rΓ² iyΓ mΓ¬β I greeted and walked on, acting like I didnβt hear what she had just said.
Yes, I had to act that way because I was already running late for work and not ready to listen to another sermon that wonβt take us anywhere.
βThe house is mine, just like the wife and the food. My mother should let me be, and allow me focus on my jobβ I thought as I placed the tray besides the bed with Madonna still sleeping soundly.
By the time I was stepping out the house, I ran into the house keeper that my mother had given a day off, returning home. I talked with her for some time, ensuring that she understood in clear terms why she was employed.
“Okay Sir! I’ll do as you have instructed. The madam must always be attended to and given whatever she wants and whenever she wants it” she replied obediently, her full breΓ£sts jingling as she bowed.
“Good. You may go inside” I told her and got into my car to drive to work, getting caught in a traffic jam that seemed intentionally tailored to keep me from getting to work on time.
When I go to the office, Chuks my friend and colleague was already in his office, and I noticed he was talking with the General Manager who had his back to me.
βHe must be in his office now sir. I saw him earlier headed to the restroomβ I heard him saying, and knew immediately that my friend was trying to save my as$.
I moved swiftly and before the General Manager found his way to my office, I was already sorting some documents, appearing very busy.
βGood morning sirβ I greeted curtly and continued with what I was doing.
βGood morning Mr. Andrew. I called your office a while ago but you didnβt answer the phone. Why havenβt you sent the proposal for the new collaboration with Brownies Limited?β he asked me, making me nearly faint.
I had totally forgotten that I ought to have sent the General Manager the proposal for final appraisal before the main presentation that was meant to come up three days later.
βOh yes, I tried to send it to you sir, but found out that my system had somehow crashed. So I had to begin the proposal againβ I said, showing him the proposal I started working on, but left unattended to for days because of my mother and Madonnaβs issues.
βMr. Andrew, I donβt know what seems to be your problems lately, but you must understand that the only reason Iβm being so lenient with you is because you have been very instrumental to the growth of this organization.
βWhatever it is that is keeping you from focusing on your job, please deal with it, and return to the Head of Marketing Department, that I have always known, or Iβll be forced to get a replacement, even if I have to build someone from the scratch.
βLet me have that proposal the first thing tomorrow morning, or you wonβt like what Iβll doβ he told me and walked out of my office.
I watched him walk out and wondered how the General Manager who used to respect me so much because of my input in the organization is now treating me with contempt because of the lapses in the discharge of my duties as I tried to adjust to living with my mother and my wife!
I decided to get busy and ensure I had what I needed to give the General Manager ready before the close of work because I didnβt wish to go home with any work to do.
Unfortunately, I hadnβt really done any research on the Brownies Limited project, so I worked all through the day, thankful that I had settled Madonna before I left the house.
When I closed however, I was far from finishing the job when so I packed my things and hurried out of my office to head home.
βAndy, why donβt you work late today and see if you can finish this job before you go home? I can stay with you until youβre doneβ Chuks my friend suggested, volunteering to stay with me, after I told him the situation of things
βLook Chuks, I know youβre trying to be a friend, but asking me to stay back when Iβm still worried about the state of my house, since neither my wife nor my mother has called since morning, is like asking me not to breath.
βPlus, I donβt want my wife to really have to miss me so badly she considers going somewhere I donβt wish she goesβ I told him
and made him prepare to go home too.
I rushed towards my car, and raced how to find Madonna watching a movie and smiling happily, while my mother slept on the couch.
I wondered how my mother managed to allow Madonna watch a movie with the volume so high, remembering how my mother made us wish we could stop breathing whenever she lay down to sleep.
βHello daddy! Did you get me ice cream? I can smell the shawarma already!β Madonna said gleefully, giving me a hug.
I handed her the things I bought for her, and got a sound kiss for a reward, then I had to make her follow me to the room quickly to keep my mother from waking up to find our mouths locked.
Getting her to allow me work on the job I brought home was a big deal, because for some reasons, she chose to get clingier than usual that night, so I didnβt get to look at that job until much later that night after weβve got down for a number of times and she was finally asleep.
