The three young men watched me as I walked out on them not looking back.

I entered my room and locked the door because I didn’t want any disturbance.

I had made up my mind and that was final.

I went mute over the phone as I didn’t know what to say, I kept thinking if Tayo had been bribed by Caleb to woo me to his rough life this time.

I responded with “I will get back to you” and hung up on Tayo.

Hours later he started calling again and I ignored them. It was really getting clearer that Tayo was bribed by Caleb.

I started making arrangements on how to relocate to a local area in Lagos, where I will see a cheaper house and rent it to start afresh.

Early in the morning, I would go out to the local part of Lagos to look for a house.

But each time I walk out of the estate, a great feeling of regrets and probably missing out on something will discern on me.

And that made me to want to give in to Caleb again, but I knew what I wanted, my life and peace of mind was more important, so I kept searching for an apartment in the local side of Lagos.

I didn’t mind because all that was on my mind was to start a new life.

I rented the apartment and furnished it to the style my money could carry.

I was at peace at least.

I started thinking of how to move my things to my apartment.

I was moving my things when I sighted Caleb watching me from his house.

I stood still faced down. The sweet memories we had and the time we spent together started raining on me.

I looked up and our eyes met as he stood hand folded, watching me with a sad face.

He noticed I was staring at him too, he started walking towards me.

He got close to where I stood, he looked into my eyes and said “Debbie are you truly leaving me”? He said with a fainting voice.

His words pieced deep into me, and tears started dropping from my eyes.

I stood still watching as he voiced more “I know you still love me, I know you still feel me, and I can feel it too.

” But is it this little sin that will make you to shot me off?.

I was calmed as I couldn’t say anything.

He was about to leave when I called on him “Caleb please”.

He stood turning his back on me.

I reached again “Caleb please don’t go”. I said as tears already gushing down my eyes. My heart leaped and my blood froze.

Caleb immediately turned and went on his knees.
“Debbie please, give me this one chance to make things right, I will correct my wrongs.

” Debbie I promise I will make it up to you”

I was about to speak when the urber man ultered, ” please listen to him nah ehh. “You girls too much like to be pampered”.

“Just forgive and forget abeg”. He added.

I turned and looked at him with a weak smile.

I held Caleb by the hand and helped him stand.

Caleb looked me in the face as his eyes glued in mine, “Debbie have you forgiven me”? He asked.

I stood for a while before answering, “yes, I have forgiven you. I said with a low tone.

Caleb hugged me tightly and I could feel his heartbeat that he was genuinely happy.

The Uber rider hailed and clapped for us as we hugged.

He was surprised when I went to tell him I won’t be packing again. His mood suddenly changed as he had wasted time waiting for me.

Caleb cleared him off handsomely and he went his way with happiness.

Caleb place my hands in his as he pleaded for forgiveness over and over again and promised to amend his ways.

I went inside with Caleb leaving some of the things I already took outside.

I sat on the couch shyly and Caleb didn’t stop vowing to change for good.

I looked at his soft lips, and imagined how I’ve truly missed him.

I picked the call and turned on the speaker.

Tayo started his plea again and this time we both burst into laughter, and Tayo was confused.

His was trying to figure out if I was with Caleb before Caleb happily voiced over. “Hey man” he said.

“Ahhh Mr Caleb Tayo said joyfully. This calls for celebration oooo, he said and we all laughed.

After a few minutes, Tayo ended the call and we activated our mood again.

We went into deep discussions and I opened up to Caleb that I’ve never had anything to do with Tayo intimately.

The only time we considered having sex was when he ghosted me and Tayo came back and I accepted him.

I told him I wasn’t that free with Tayo if not I would have had sex severally with him.

I was truly happy that he’d changed and for good this time.

But Caleb cut short my happiness when he Opened up that he had a child elsewhere with his baby mama.

“It was just an accident and I don’t intend to marry her. It is better to tell you now, so you won’t find out later and it will become a problem”.

“It is you I love and want to be with”. He said.

I was saddened, I never imagined Caleb that had just messed up my health to bring in another news of a baby mama.

“Which Nigerian Lady will keep quiet and watch his husband with another woman without troubles.

” I was really in love with Caleb but I wasn’t ready for A Nigeria woman’s problem”.

But Caleb promised me he was going to make sure there was no problem, and we started our marriage plans.
