I can’t remember if I have shed tears the way Olivia made me pour out my myself today.
I have never experienced a failed relationship.

I got home and met my mother in the living room.
I don’t know what came over me but I found myself approached her angrily.

“I went to the eatery with Olivia and you know what, she called off our relationship.
She said so many terrible things to me.”
“And?” My mother appeared unperturbed.

“Funny, Dennis.” My Mother chortled.
“What does Olivia have that other women out there don’t have?

My mother looked away. I perceived trouble. I have never seen my parents this way.
“Mina…” My father called my mother by her name for the very first time of the twenty four years of staying married to each other.
“The only one who don’t deserve good people and good family as in-laws like Olivia’s family, is Mina.”
My mother stayed silent.
My father turned to me, “Stay strong son, she’s just hurt for now but she’d come around soon. I assure you.”
I was flustered. My parents have always been that lovey dovey couples. But right now, I was seeing two love birds being hostile to each other.
“I’ve never seen you two like this, father.
What’s wrong?”
My mother quickly cut in, “couples quarrel sometimes. It’s normal.”
My father quietly picked his car key and left.
I ran to my room to have a bed rest.
I’m exhausted beyond words can express.

I always have difficulty listening to voice records especially if it’s more than sixty seconds but this one, I was in a hurry to listen to everything and more.
I first read her first ten chats “Son, everything happened when you were yet to understand this world and it’s unkindness.
I have been friends with your mother and her late twin sister, Leah since our years in primary school till date.
