👫 Lust For Money CHAPTER TEN: ❣️
In Lagos, Lizzy had secured a petty job. Though the pay was not much. But Lizzy was happy to be using her little salary to be helping her mother in the catering for the family. A family of seven – one girl and five boys including their mother.
The family loads were too heavy of a burden to the widow. Worst still, the widow, Lizzy’s mother, doesn’t have any business doing but she was engaging in petty jobs to cater for the family.
At some point, the road became tough for Lizzy’s mother. During that period, it was as if their village people had ganged up against them. Because the petty works she was getting from people were no longer coming her way again. As those who used to give her work to do refused to give her again. Even Lizzy lost her job too and getting another one was a very big problem because every manager wanted to sléép with her before giving her job. Even those who used to help them in one way or the other had stopped too. And her five boys were still young. It was only Lizzy who was her grownup child among them.
The thing was, after giving birth to Lizzy, pregnancy stopped coming. So It was after twelve years that the second pregnancy came. Lizzy’s mother then gave birth to twins – two boys. On their third attempt again, with hope to close the birthing chapter with a girl child, another male child came again. The fourth one was a big mistake. No one saw it coming. Because the whole thing happened at an old age. Twins came again. Though the twins nearly took their mother’s head. But God came to her rescue. That after her journey to the héll, she miraculously delivered herself the two bouncing baby boys.
Ever since the déáth of Lizzy’s father, the widow couldn’t afford to maintain the payment of the house rent. It was people who were assisting her with the payment of the rents. But for the past three years now, they have been owing the landlord.
So one fateful day, the landlord decided to throw their things out. Though the major anger of the widower, the landlord, was not the debts only but that Lizzy’s mother had refused him access into her inner chamber. Because he has been asking the widow out for the past one year now but all to no avail. Even when the landlord was ready to forfeit her debts on a condition he would be sleeping with her at his will but she refused. She even vowed in the presence of the landlord that no man would ever see her ñàkedñèss not to talk of sleeping with her.
And Lizzy’s mother was so beautiful even at old age. She has this young stature. A forever young looking woman. People, especially those who don’t know the story, said that it was as a result of her beauty that made them fill the house up with children. Though they never blamed the late husband because according to them, no man would have such charming beauty at home and would not be busy on the bed every night.
The widow had to take her children back to the village. But unfortunately, she was denied access into her late husband’s house in the village all because her husband’s people wedged war against her, accusing her falsely of kîllîñg her husband.
So she had to take her children to her father’s house.
Meanwhile, Lizzy stayed back in Lagos. The company she finally secured a job with, gave her a room in the company. So whatever she made, she did send it to her mother in the village to cater for the family.
One fateful day, the widow went to bed and couldn’t wake up. She pásséd away. She dîéd of chronic diseases.
Then heavy responsibilities befell upon Lizzy at a young age. Although she did her best. But her best was not good enough. As the loads were too heavy on her.
It was amid the struggle in the street of Ajegunle that Lizzy met Susan. Susan took the poor girl with her. Then initiated her into the hustle.
And it was through the hustle that Lizzy was able to train all her siblings even to the higher institution level. She also sponsored about three of them to the foreign lands. And they were all doing well for themselves today.

Lizzy really used her songs of praise to próvóked the Angels of God in the heaven that fateful midnight aftermath her conversation with Femi. Her songs of praise really touched the heavenly father. Even the neighbors felt the wave of her melodic voice and songs. To the extent many wondered whether all was well. Because it was very strange hearing such powerful and touching melodic praise from the apartment filled to the brim with ‘daughters of dóóm’.
In fact, Lizzy happiness knows no bounds. The tears all this while were nothing but tears of joy. The news Femi delivered to her on the phone was good news. Not bad news as you may be thinking. Because Phyna made it out alive. She had her final surgery successfully even when the doctors predicted that her chances of surviving were 50/50. But God took absolute control of the whole thing.
The raining season was at its peak.
The night of the day came very pregnant. As the sky was áñgry. The thunder rumbled angrily, making way for the blue lightning that streaked the sky. The wind was blowing harshly. People feared that night, imagining what their fate would be if heaven mistakenly opened its angry mouth to vomit its véñom.
Lizzy was at home as the wind was blowing harshly against her windows. She was totally lost in thought. To the extent she was unaware of her environment. Even as the rain had started falling, she was still deep in her journey of thought, forgetting to close the windows against the rain that was penetrating inside of the house.
‘..I really thank God for Phyna’s life. But she doesn’t deserve this level of crûélty melted upon her. I still can’t believe that she was póîsóñéd under my roof. And for the past few months now, the innocent Phyna has been going through pains. The painful one is that the perpetrator is somewhere walking freely,’ she paused. ‘No! I will not allow that to happen. Whosoever is behind this atróçîty cannot go unpunished. There will be no peace for the wîçkèd. I will do whatever it takes to make sure she faces the wrath of her atróçîty,’ she paused, thinking so deeply. ‘I know what to do. I have to journey past rivers to get vengeance for Phyna. I have to visit home..,’ Lizzy was soliloquizing amid áñgér and ágóñy that raining night.
Three days later, Lizzy traveled to her home town In Edo State to seek vengeance for Phyna.
