All what she worked hard for is gone. Her world slowly crashes in front of her eyes. She ducks and cries with her hands covering her face.
Felix slowly ducks and rubs her back, “I’m sorry Giselle. It’s my fault. I’m sorry for coming into your life. I should have remembered things quickly. I should have.” He hits his head and shouts. “Why can’t I remember the past.”
Giselle looks at him and holds his hand. “No, it’s not your fault. It’s no ones fault.”
They went to Karina’s house to stay there for a night. Karina leads them to the guest room, which has a small bed.
“Giselle, you can take the bed. I’ll just sleep on the floor.”
“Okay.” She mumbled.
Felix goes out to get extra blankets while Giselle lay down and sigh. A lot of thoughts came to her mind and she stayed up all night. Awake. Tired. Hopeless.
The next day, she finally made a decision- a decision that seems to be her last resort. She has no choice but to go there.
She dressed up and goes out without informing Felix. She takes a bus and reaches her nightmare; her parents house. She walks slowly and lifts her arms shakily, reaching the doorbell. She pushes the button and after a while, the big gate opened.
She walked in and a maid accompanied her inside the house. She led her to the garden where her mother is sitting while sipping her cup of tea.
Mrs. Kim noticed her and smile softly. A smile of satisfaction. “Giselle, my daughter.”
Giselle slowly sits with her legs closed, hands on her laps gripping her dress tightly. “Mom..I need your help.”
“Why?”
“I.. I’ll marry Hendrey.” She said as a tear fall. “But..”
“But?’ she raises an eyebrow. She’ll do anything just to make her daughter marry the company’s major shareholder’s son.
“I.. have a friend. He lost his memory and doesn’t have any shelter to live in. I’ll marry Hendrey, but you have to let him have his therapy and his shelter until he gets his memories back.”
“Sure.’ Mrs. Kim said without hesitation. “I’ll do it.” Mrs. Kim knows of her friend and she knows that her daughter is quite attached to him. She thought of sending him far away, she thought she should.
“T.. thank you Mom.” Giselle bows as tears fall.
She gives in but she knows that what she is doing is for the good of others. I may not be in a good position in the future, but I’m happy to know that Felix is safe. That he has an assurance that his memories will soon come back.
Giselle gulped hard as she tries to stop her tears. “I’ll get going now.”
“I’ve heard you just lost your home. You and your friend can stay here for now.”
“Okay Mom.” She said obediently. She pulls the chair back and stands up. Her eyes turned red and cheeks wet. She looked down to avoid her mother noticing.
“Are you Crystal Giselle?” Giselle shakes her head. “Don’t worry everything will be fine.”
For Giselle, nothing is going to be fine. Never.
She nods and bows. She turns back and walks out of the building and takes a bus. She stare blankly at the window as building, people and card pass by. Minutes later she stopped and gets off the bus and slowly walks to Karina’s house.
Th dark clouds were covering the bright sun that is setting. The dogs were barking, leaves rustling and drops of rain starts falling. She looks up as she opened her palms to let the rain fall on it. She continued walking and as she reaches Karina’s house, she sees Felix in front of the door looking from left to right.
Felix glance at her direction and his eyes widened. He ran to her and squeezes his hand on hers. “Where did you go?”
She removes her hands from his. “I.. I just went somewhere.” She then chuckles as if nothing happened earlier. As if she didn’t sacrifice anything earlier.
Felix smile and said. “Oh, I thought you left me alright.” He was afraid; afraid she’ll leave him.
“I won’t okay?’ she assures him. “Never.”
Felix extend his smile as he feels more secured and loved. They went inside and there they saw Karina reading some books.
“Giselle, you’re back.”
Giselle tries to smile. “Ah, yes.”
“Felix was worried about you all day. He kept asking me where you went.”
Felix looks at Karina, signaling her to stop talking about it.
But Karina continues by exaggerating. “He said that he already misses you and he can’t live without you.”
Giselle’s cheeks suddenly felt warm and her heart beat fast. She slowly looks at him, who was behind her. “Really?” She mumbles.
“Uh..uh.” his eyes turned big like a frog’s and he couldn’t mutter a word. Giselle then turns to Karina and ask her the same question shr asked Lucas and shr nods lightly and grins.
Giselle looks down and smiles to herself. “I’ll go my room and change.”
“Okay.” Karina replied.
