“It’s already afternoon on Monday and her class have already ended. While fixing her things, she saw Lia walking towards her and she already knows why she’s here.
“Ms Giselle.” She greets.
Giselle looked up and sees her grinning and waving her hand. Giselle smile back and continued fixing her things.
“Why? Lucas?”
She nods as her smile turns to a frown. She chuckled as Giselle slowly shook her head. It was just last month when she found out Lia likes her brother. Whenever she have lecture in their class, she’ll see Lia staring at him while smiling. She found it funny and cute, so when she ask her at first, she didn’t denial it and told her to keep it a secret.
With a bubbly personality and optimistic view, Lia can make her brother less sad. She knows her brother, he may be smart but he lacks friends. He barely smiles and always appears dead, even with their family.
Lia leans on the table and looks up. She sighed and said. “Why does he hate me?’
“He doesn’t hate you, at least from what I know.”
“Then why is he ignoring me?”
“Lucas has always been like that. He doesn’t talk to people that much, but if he finds you interesting, then he’ll talk to you.”
Suddenly sparkles appeared in her eyes. “Really? So if he talks to me, it means he likes me?”
“I think you misunderstood the word ‘Interesting’.” She mumbled.
Lia didn’t hear her as she squealed and jumped in front of her. Her ponytail kept bouncing as her eyes are close and her smile never wears off.
Giselle chortled as she waited for her to calm down her feelings. After a minute, she stops and asked, “Me Giselle, do you also like someone?” Lia smiles mischievously and said, “I’m sure you like someone.”
Giselle sighed and smiled as she leaned back on her chair. “I think we’re on the same boat.”
“Really?!” Lia shouted. Her voice echoed the class. Giselle gesture her to be quiet. “Who is the guy?”
“It’s a secret.” She winked
“It’s unfair.” Lia crossed her arms and pouts. She tuts and said. “Anyways, I’ll get going now! Goodbye and thank you.”
Giselle waved back as she left the classroom. After placing her stationary in her bag, she quickly left the classroom. She hurry down the stairs and scan her ID for the school to record her time out. As she walked out of the school, someone grabbed her wrist. Giselle turned and was surprised to see Hendrey smiling at her.
“Let’s go get some snacks?”
“I..I need to go home.”
“Let’s go.” Hendrey laughs and drags her.
Giselle thought they were going to the bus stop but she was wrong, they went to a convenience store. They sat on the table near the window and he bought two ramen. After some minutes they ate and talked about what happened earlier.

“Giselle.” Hendrey mumbled as they were walking on the sidewalk.
“Hm?” She looks at him. It seems like he can’t let out what he needs to say.
“Do you.. Giselle, I like you.” He cuts in
Giselle’s body freeze as she hears Hendrey’s words. “Hendrey..” she mutters. She steps back as she wraps herself with her arms and looked down not knowing what to say next.
Hendrey looked at her with sincerity and worry. He suddenly laugh and Giselle looks at him. “Giselle, I know you don’t like me.” He said as he shows a grin. “I know.”
Giselle touches his soft hands and said. “I.. I’m sorry.” The cold breeze blows and pass them.
The nigh was coming and street lights starts to show yellow glow. They were standing next to one, Giselle looked at it. She then looks at him with a smile and shows her pinky finger to him.
“What’s this?”
“Let’s pretend this never happened. Pinky promise.”
Hendrey snickers as he thinks that it’s a childish act, but he rides with her. He locks his cold pinky finger with hers . “Pinky promise.”
“From this moment onwards.” She closes her eyes and exhales heavily with a smile and with their pinky finger still locked. She opens her eyes and looks at him with her dazzling eyes. “We’ll forget this ever happened.”
“YEAH!” Hendrey shouted and they both laugh. He takes a one last look at her as his heart starts to feel heavy. “I need to go now.” He said as he knows that any minute now, a tear will fall. He waves back and didn’t wait for her response. He ran as fast as he can, away from Giselle.
Giselle on the other hand, felt sorry for him. She rejected him and it’s also hard for her. She didn’t intend to make him feel bad, but she thinks that it’s for his good. She then wraps herself with her arms again as she sighs. She then starts to walk on the opposite direction and heads straight home.

As she opened the door, she saw Felix sitting in the dinning room staring at the dinner home. “Oh, you’re here.”
Giselle quietly removes her shoes and walks to her room, she goes out after a minute and joins Felix.
They started eating but she was still quiet. Felix keeps asking question but she only answer either with a yes or no, or a one word answer.

While eating, she keeps recalling what happened earlier.
“Giselle, are you okay?” Felix asked when he noticed she was staring at the food.
She shook her head. “Yes.”
“Are you sure?”
“Yes Felix, I’m okay.”
It’s a four-word answer and he smiles to himself.
After eating, she stands up, grabs their plates and placed them in the sink. “I’ll go wash the dishes.”
Felix nods and cleans the table, afterwards he went to his room.
Giselle sighed as she finished washing the dishes. She dries her hands with a towel and zombie-walked towards the light switch. She turn the lights off and walks to her room.
Before going to bed, she grabs a brown construction paper-covered journal below her bed and grabs a pen. She sits in front of the study desk and starts writing in her diary; about what happened today, her feelings for Felix and about Felix saying he remembered a name Jessica and which I funny because that’s also her Mom’s name. How he became friends with Winter, how happy is whenever he is with Winter.
She then doodles around the page with heart and swirls to end up the letter.
“Giselle.” A voice from outside called.
She glance at the door with wide eyes and swiftly closes her journal. Felix opens the door before she could hide it under her bed. She ran to him and pushes him out.
“What’s the sixth house rule?” She asked as she slams the door shut.
Felix smiles in embarrassment as he rubs his nape. “Sorry.”
“Fine!”
“Breakfast is ready.”
“I’ll be there in a few minute.” She walks inside her room and exhaled deeply, thinking that he might have seen the journal. ‘He didn’t see it. He didn’t see it.’ she persuades herself.
During breakfast, she received a text from her brother. “Sis, can you come tonight? Mom and Dad wants to have a family dinner with you since it’s almost Christmas.”
She looks up and thought for a second. “I’ll do it for Lucas.” She said to herself. She replied with a yes and Lucas replies with a grin.

Giselle left the house and when she took the taxi, she realizes her phone isn’t with her. She still proceeds to her family house and arrives with her formal white dress.
As she steps into the black gate, the maids warmly welcomed her and direct her to the dinning room. Before entering the dinning room, Lucas hold her hand and takes her to the side. “Sis, what are you doing here?”
“Y..you texted me.”
“I..I..I was wrong. This isn’t a family dinner Sis. Mom and Dad…”
“Giselle, I’m glad you came!’ Mrs. Kim said. She holds Giselle’s hand tightly and said. “Let’s go inside. The Lee family is waiting for us.” She then glares at her. Giselle couldn’t do anything but to follow her.
They entered the dinning room, Giselle sees the two families gathered on a one long table.
“Mr and Mrs. Lee, let me introduce to you my daughter, Kim Giselle, your future daughter-in-law.”
“She looks beautiful.” Mrs. Lee said.
While Giselle’s eyes widened in surprise and shock.
“Ms. Kim..” Mr. Lee said. “Meet my son, your future husband Hendrey Lee.”
Wearing a black coat and slacks with white button down and black necktie with his black hair brushed up, is Hendrey sitting next to his father. He looks at her with a blank face and said. “Good evening Ms. Kim.”
Mrs. Kim pinched her on her wrist to wake her senses. Giselle has been staring at Hendrey in fear and shock.
“U..uh..” she mutters. She blinks once, twice, thrice. “Good evening..Mr. Lee.”
Hendrey smiles and looks at his father. “She’s beautiful.” He whispered. He looks at her once again and it pierced his heart seeing her suffering with what is happening. “Let’s eat.” He offers.
“Ah, okay.” Mrs. Kim said as she pulls her shock daughter to the table.
Giselle tried pulling herself away from her but she couldn’t. She sat beside Hendrey by the order if her Mom.
“Mr and Mrs. Lee, don’t they look good together?”
Mr and Mrs. Lee laughs and agreed. Giselle avoided their look while her body shakes.
Giselle silently stares at her food. Mr and Mrs. Lee looks at her parents in worry.
“Giselle.” her father calls with his low pitched and strong voice.
“Y..yes?” Her voice trembles.
“Eat your dinner.” Her father commands.
It sends shivers on her and she quickly picks up her chopsticks.
“Yes Dad.’ she said as she picks the rice with her shaking hands and eats. She ate slowly as her sense were slowly getting out of control. Her eyes starts to blur and she didn’t notice that her eyes have starts to water.. and a tear falls. Her heart beating fast and chest felt heavy.
A hand lands on her shoulder. She looks at him and he wipes her tears with his soft hands. “Are you okay?” He whispers.
“Uhh..” she stutters as she wipes her tears. She smiles forcibly as she looks at her parents and Hendrey’s. “Excuse me.” She said and pulls her chair away from the table and stands. She covered her eyes as she ran to the door. Her brown shoes heel resounds.
