π Just One Mistake Episode Episode Eight:
Dele: Calm down, dear; I am not a ghost; I didn’t die.
Bimbo: You mean, you didn’t die, and you left me to pay for a crime I didn’t commit?
Dele: it’s not like that. Will you hear me out?
Bimbo: why do you think I should hear you out?
Dele: Bimbo, please, calm down.
Bimbo: Calm down, you say? Your people got me arrested and sentenced to twenty-five years imprisonment for killing you, and all you can tell me is to calm down. What kind of wickedness is that? You were out there all this while, yet you allowed me spend five years in prison for doing nothing
Dele: allow me to explain what happened to me, na?
Bimbo: Kai! Go on, but that won’t change the fact that I won’t forgive your family for doing this to me.
Dele: After leaving the house angrily that night, I went to Gomez’s house to pass the night but had to leave because his girlfriend was around. I only explained things to him and left. Not wanting to come back that night, I boarded a cab to take me to a hotel. All of a sudden, we were doubled-crossed; the driver and the other man in the cab were shot dead. I was their target, but they missed shooting me; I tiptoed out of the cab and ran into the bush; they also ran after me. When I saw that they almost caught up with me, I jumped into a river and swam away. They kept shooting into the river, but their bullet didn’t touch me.
Bimbo: what???
Dele: I was able to swim to the other side of the river, which happened to be a village. By the time I got to the shore, I was almost dead; a farmer and his wife rescued me, and I have been with them ever since.
Bimbo: what you went through wasn’t funny, but dude, you kept quiet for a whole five years
Dele: Bimbo, I wanted to come back immediately to fish out those evil people, but the Holy Spirit asked me to lay low to catch them red-handed because they are people very close to me
Bimbo: hmmm. You know, I was shocked when they said I killed you; how on earth will I kill my husband? Fine, I understand I made a mistake, but that cannot make me kill my husband. Please, since you are back, do something about it; I need to leave here as soon as possible.
Dele: you will surely leave, but we need to get evidence to nail them down. Babe, please, give me a little time; I am working with my lawyer concerning this
Bimbo: hmmm, so, how long do I have to stay here?
Dele: not up to six months, please, keep praying for me.
Bimbo: okay, oooooh
Dele: please, be strong for me.
With that, Dele stood to his feet, covered his head with a hood, and walked out of the visiting room. With tears in her eyes, Bimbo stood up and watched him leave through the window; she saw him leave in a black jeep with a tinted glass.
Cindy had been out of the country for three months; her baby, as she popularly called him, sent her to Dubai to have fun. Initially, she was supposed to spend a month, but when she saw how sweet life was in Dubai, she extended her stay to three months. Immediately after landedn Nigeria, she took a cab to go meet her baby. As she called him baby, one would think her baby was a young man; he was a man of sixty-five years.
Since it was a Friday, Cindy knew he would be in his lodge. She dressed seductively and went to his lodge without giving him notice. Getting to his lodge, she was surprised to see a lady’s underwear littered on the floor; she proceeded into his room and met the shock of her life. Chibaby, her best friend, was in bed with her manfriend.
Cindy: Chief??
Chief: Cindy? Why didn’t you inform me that you were in town?
Cindy: Chibaby, what are you doing with my man?
Chibaby: Calm down, darling; I only came here to have a piece of the national cake; I also need to travel to Dubai.
Cindy: How could you, Chief?
Chief: please leave us, Cindy. I will send for you when I need you
Cindy: Chief, if you try to dump me, the consequences will be too much for you to bear.
