Mrs. Olaloye noticed her son was withdrawn; he preferred to stay in his room than to mingle with the other family members which was unlike him. At first, she thought he wanted to get enough rest after the whole saga their family went through, but she became concerned when it became worse. When she couldn’t bear it again, she had to speak to him as she was missing her playful son.
On getting to his room, she met him lying on the bed with his headphone on. A tap from her brought him back to consciousness; it was then Mrs. Olaloye discovered he had been crying.
Mrs. Olaloye: Son?
Dele: I didn’t know when you walked in.
Mrs. Olaloye: what’s wrong? You’ve been withdrawn; what’s eating you up?
Dele: I’m fine, Mom.
Mrs. Olaloye: No, you are not; something is running in that mind of yours. Mind you, I saw you quickly wipe tears from your face, so talk to me.
Dele: hmmm
Mrs. Olaloye: Is it about Bimbo?
Dele: hmmm, can we ever get back together? Will she still want to do life with me?
Mrs. Olaloye: Son, all that happened wasn’t anyone’s fault; we were misled by the wicked people around us. Thank God they are out of our lives forever. What you two need to do is to sit and have a conversation.
Dele: how do I get to face her mom? How do I get to tell her that I want my wife and son back when my family couldn’t believe them when things went rocky? Would Bimbo still relate well with us?
Mrs. Olaloye: I think Bimbo and her mother deserve a formal apology from us; ask if they would be available by the weekend so that we can go there together. Meanwhile, how is my grandson doing?
Dele: he is doing fine, he just wants us to live together as a family, but I haven’t dared to discuss that with Bimbo
Mrs. Olaloye: it’s fine, we will go there on Saturday. Cheer up and come have your lunch.
Dele: thanks mom, I’ll join you soon.
Leo was doing his assignment in the sitting room on that Saturday afternoon; Mrs. Folake was in the kitchen preparing lunch while Bimbo was in the room working on the system. Leo heard the doorbell ring and ran to see who was at the door; when he saw his father, he screamed and jumped into his open arms. Leo dragged Dele’s father into the sitting room before going to inform his grandmother about their presence.
Mrs. Folake was so happy to see Dele and his mom; she related so well with them, which was against what they expected. Since she was done cooking, she invited them to the dining and ensured they ate to their fill. When they were done eating, Mrs. Olaloye went closer to Mrs. Folake and was about to go on her knee, but Mrs. Folake quickly stopped her.
Mrs. Olaloye: you are indeed a great woman; thank you for overlooking all our errors
Mrs. Folake: it’s alright; we need to understand that all that happened is no one’s fault. May we never fall into the hands of our enemies again
Mrs. Olaloye: Amen.
Dele: Ma, can I see Bimbo?
Mrs. Folake: sure, she is in the room working on some company documents.
Bimbo was lost in what she was doing that she didn’t know when her husband walked in; his touch brought her back to reality,
Bimbo: you sacred me!!!
Dele: you were carried away. Hmmm, my big woman, how have you been, na?
Bimbo: fine oooo
