π Just One Mistake Episode Episode Twelve:
Bimbo: Yes, we only got intimate once and…
Dele: and what, please??
Bimbo: Hey, calm down, joor. I haven’t been with any man since your supposed death.
Dele: are you trying to say he is mine?
Bimbo: Yes, he is the product of that night. I found out that I was pregnant in prison, so I carried his pregnancy in prison, but they were nice to have given me six months to nurse him at home.
Dele: oh my! This is not fair, these people will pay for what they subjected us to, and they will rot in jail.
Mrs. Folake: Your family hurt me so much. Do you think my daughter married you to kill you? Your mom is the one behind her arrest and jail term
Dele: Mommy, I am sorry for everything. Gomez and my Uncle are the ones behind this whole thing, and to cover their tracks, they tied it on my wife. I haven’t even revealed myself to my mom because if I do, Gomez and my Uncle will know I am alive. Don’t worry, mummy, Bimbo is coming out soon.
Immediately Dele realized the little boy was his, he carried him and couldn’t stop staring at him. He appreciated Bimbo for remaining strong for him even when she thought he was dead; he also appreciated Mrs. Folake for being there for his wife and son. Mrs. Folake couldn’t hold back tears as the realization of things hit her; she had thought Bimbo would waste twenty years of her life in prison for a crime she knew nothing about.
She had even stopped to believe God could bring her daughter out as she was already counting days, weeks, months, and years. But then, God came out to them in a way they could not even think of. She held hands with Bimbo, Dele, and her grandson and prayed from them from the deepest part of her heart.
After the prayer, Dele received a call from the Lawyer and had to leave. Just as the lawyer predicted, the commissioner of police, who knew Dele’s father to be a philanthropist, was highly interested in the case; he put a call to the stations in Dele’s area to work on the case and ensured the culprits face the law of the land. When Dele informed Bimbo about the situation of things, she couldn’t help but give praise to God. At that point, she knew God would never let His one suffer; it may look like one’s prayer isn’t reaching Heaven, but then, God is busy working out something.
Gomez was in bed with his newly found girlfriend when some policemen came and walked into his room; it was their audacity for him; he quickly put on his boxer and made to shout at them when he came face to face with his worst nightmare, Dele. He shivered at that instant; he thought Dele was dead.
Gomez: Dele, is this you? We thought you died.
Dele: isn’t it better to say God intercepted your plan to kill me?
Gomez: no, it’s not like that, Dele. Why would I do such a thing?
Dele: wow! Nice one, but you raped my girl, right?
Gomez: of course not; why would I backstab you? You’ve been like a brother to me.
Dele: hmmm! Maybe when you get to the police net and listen to the evidence and get enough torture, you will confess to being guilty of these allegations. Officers, please, take him away and make sure he never comes out of jail.
Gomez: Dele, please, don’t do this to a brother. Please, it’s the work of the devil; I am sorry for raping Bimbo.
Dele: see you in court, bro.
Mrs. Olaloye was lying in bed feeling so sick and depressed; life had never been the same since the death of her son. She tried to get over Dele’s death, but she was unable and to think her health was nothing to write home about. Her daughters had been so supportive, but they couldn’t fill the vacuum Dele left. She was so grateful to Gomez, who was always going to the doctor to help her get drugs, but it seemed the drugs were not working as she got sicker every day.
Mrs. Olaloye was sitting on the bed with her two daughters beside her when a figure that looked like Dele walked into her room; the trio screamed for fear believing Dele’s ghost had come to visit them.
