Bisola sat on her favorite cushion rubbing her protruded stomach while eating the fruit salad her husband bought for her. The pregnancy period had not been funny but the comfort of the Holy Spirit and the support of her husband helped her greatly. She could even boast that the pregnancy of the twins was less stressful but all the same, she was happy that God helped her greatly.
Bisola: Sweet, who is coming to help take care of the baby?
Dozie: Your mom of course, why are you asking?
Bisola: and your mom?
Dozie: Aunty, forget that.
As Bisola was about to respond to her husband, she suddenly felt an excruciating pain, before she could mutter any word, her water broke almost immediately. Amidst the pain, she notified her husband who sprang to his feet and drove her to the hospital. Just as the Holy Spirit promised him, his wife gave birth like the Hebrew women. Dozie couldn’t stop praising God because he had harbored the thought that Bisola might likely have the baby through a cesarean session due to the level of pain she experienced in the course of the pregnancy.
Just as Dozie said, Bisola’s mum came to take care of the new baby, and in the course of her stay, She mandated Bisola to make things right with Dozie’s mother as she could not continue to have issues with her mother-in-law because it would hurt the relationship between her children and her mother-in-law.
Mrs. Kennedy was picking the beans she intended to cook for herself and her husband when her cell phone rang, she looked at the screen and discovered it was an international line, she picked it up almost immediately thinking Dozie had decided to forgive her.
Bisola: Good Morning ma, how have you been ma?
Mrs. Kennedy: Bisola??
Bisola: Yes ma, I am sorry it took this long for me to call you
Mrs. Kennedy: (wiped the tears that suddenly dropped from her eyes) My daughter, I am sorry for everything I did, I had wanted to make amends long ago but Dozie refused to pick up my calls or even reply to my WhatsApp messages. Please, forgive me for everything I ever did.
Bisola: it’s okay ma. I even want to inform you that I gave birth to a baby girl last month
Mrs. Kennedy: Chimo! Congratulations my daughter
Bisola: will you want to come over to me?
Mrs. Kennedy: Haaa, thank you, my daughter.
Bisola: I will begin to work on it ma.
Two months later, Mrs. Kennedy traveled to meet Dozie and his family. While on the plane, she harbored mixed feelings as she doubt if Dozie would ever forgive her for having a hand in the miscarriage Bisola had back then. She later got to know that Sydney got pregnant and because she didn’t know who the father of the child was, she decided to pin the pregnancy on Dozie after which he might have slept with her.
She planned to make Bisola leave Dozie after the miscarriage and then walk her way into Dozie’s life but then, she came just too late because God had taught the couple great lessons. Surprisingly, when Mrs. Kennedy stepped her feet into her son’s home, Bisola gave her a warm embrace which was surprising to her, her grandchildren also ran to greet her, which was another surprise. She had thought the boys would hate her for treating their mother wickedly in time past.
Dozie was surprised to hear Bisola’s loud laughter and that of a mature woman as he walk into his house, his wife isn’t the type that keeps friends so he couldn’t stop wondering who Bisola was laughing with. He got into the living room only to see his mother watching a movie and laughing with Bisola and to think his baby was fast asleep on her lap.
Dozie: Mom, what are you doing here?? How did you get here?
Bisola: Welcome dear, I brought her here
Dozie: Meet me in the room
Getting to the room, Dozie made Bisola understand that he doesn’t appreciate how she brought his mother without his knowledge but then, Bisola made him realize that to excel in life, one must be willing to let go of offenses because the devil will always use It to hinder one’s success. Dozie who was touched by that statement made up his mind to forgive his mother and bury the hatchet.
He went to the living room and embraced his mother, Bisola could not stop smiling as mother and son reunited she was also happy that she won’t have to deal with the issue of a bad mother-in-law.
Just as Bisola said, after forgiving his mother, Dozie began to prosper in every area of his life. It was at that point, he realized that unforgiveness can hinder a person’s success. The couple drew nearer to God and the Holy Spirit in turn opened their eyes to things they never knew. They didn’t just learn, they taught their children. The presence of God in their family helped them to do great and mighty things.
