He said he had to run away from home when he couldn’t bear the fact that he was a secondary school dropout, he now lived in the street and earn a living by helping people to carry their goods.
As I walked away, I couldn’t help but shake my head after my discussion with Jide. Back then, I used to see greatness in him but the moment his parent began to pronounce negative words on him, I became afraid of what the future held for him, I could remember advising his mother one day to stop pronouncing negative words on him but it fell on deaf ears. Surprisingly, years later, his life is a mess except for God’s intervention. #fiction#
There is a level of authority that parent has over their children which is why any word whether positive or negative that they pronounced on their children will surely come to pass. I have been a teacher for years and if there is one thing I am sure of, it is the fact the attitude of children sometimes can provoke one to utter a negative word on them.
But the understanding of the fact any negative word released on your child can mar his or her future should put us in check. There are better and other ways to discipline a child without destroying his or her future.
Before becoming a parent, we must ensure that our tongue is seasoned with salts such that positive declarations and blessings are the things we utter. May we not destroy our children with the words of our mouths in Jesus’ name.
