She stood beside the coach who wanted to introduce her. She dashed towards me
“Hey” she expressed with a grin.
I glanced back to the coach to see his hands in motion,frozen! Standing agape, looking at her with profound interest. I think our coach finally found his athlete!
“Don’t you think you are rude?I asked
“In which ways”she inquired. I found it wrong to say ‘ways’.
“You should have introduced yourself”I complained
“The last time I did that,the school director flared at me,the mention of my name makes him nauseous,starts him fuming”she answered.
To get into a mess with the school director and you looked like someone who lived a normal life is absolutely a skill of survival.
“I found you extremely fascinated due to the fact of how unpredictable you can be”I remarked
“Gosh, a compliment from my boyfriend”she said. Can I asphyxiate this girl?I asked myself.
“Do me a favor and introduce yourself, Christine”I requested calmly
“Another favour!you owe me two”she declared
“Sure” I uttered
“Anything for my boyfriend”she winked at me dashed towards the coach. I haven’t decided to date her and she’s already calling me her boyfriend.
A deep inward happiness swept through me as I thought of her statement and it’s making me feel awkward like a cow on a skateboard. “I’m not liking her”I recited slowly “she’s just a troublesome, likable being with a full touch of craziness”. Did I just say likable.
She stood beside the coach, introduced herself with smiles and gazed at me anytime she had a chance. She said something and looked at me in the eyes which made the coach and the fellow athletes laughed. I became curious of what she’s telling them.
Shortly she fondled the coach’s arm before patting him on the head. I stood agape, surprised “No need to explain to me why she got in a mess in her former school”I muttered gently with my face in my palm.
We were asked to run Four laps. The whole field was as large as a football stadium. It’s not like we haven’t ran twice the lap during the past. We started the laps and Christine was by my side only 7 handspan between us.
“You care to tell me about yourself?she asked as if we were on our first date “I don’t think we are that close to discuss my life with you”I answered
“Then how do I get close to you?she asked indirectly directed to me. I counted it as a rhetorical question!
“I don’t think we can be closer than this”I stated
“Then,how do you describe our relationship? She asked
“I’m sure we haven’t reached the stage of calling this a relationship”I replied. She blinked her eyes and I felt she was feeling kinda rejected.
“But on the field we are a fellow athletes”I mentioned
“in the school building she asked again. Why does this girl ask so many questions, I’m slowly losing it.
“Fellow students”I composed myself calmly
“What about outside the school?she turned to me staring at my sideview.
“A fellow human being”I indicated and Drew the line between us.
With an unsatisfied tone she called out “Simon”. Her tone made me confused and curious
“Yes” I answered
“I don’t want to be just a fellow to you”. My heart left my body at the hearing of those words. Where did she learn to say those eye-catching words. My heartbeats started beating like I never noticed.
“You can’t change a leopard spot, therefore you can’t change me”I answered. We started the second lap. We wouldn’t say we weren’t running but at a slow pace.
“If I’m in love with the leopard, I’ll change it’s spot”she stated. I looked at her sweatband and it looked like it was specifically made for her.
“You sure are determined”I replied
“If you are determined you can accomplish anything”she explained
“But I’m not anything”I said confidently!.
“You are my everything”she declared.
There she goes again! “Stop saying those words, it’s making me laugh”I requested
“I love making you smile”she said
“I didn’t add smile”I explained
“But you meant smile”she replied.
“I wouldn’t argue with her. She might say something that will make me succumb to her love”I thought.
“I should stop talking, right”I reasoned out
“Please don’t stop I love hearing your voice”she replied with loving eyes. I smiled unknowingly which made her run on her back.
“That’s not safe”I warned
“I just want to see your handsome smiling face”she said
“You took lessons for those cheesy words”I asked
“Everything works when it comes to love”she stated.
“Love, you say”I said.
Then a fortunately unfortunately scene started to unveil itself.
She tripped!
