I froze at the spot I was. I turned and discovered the cΕ«lt gang all looking at me.
I was staring at dΔΓ th right in front of me.
The next week thing that came to my mind was to run. I instantly took to my heels, running as fast as I can.
They all chased after me with the aim of ending my life. They began firing the gun. I was really afraid, I dare not look back I just kept running.
The gunshots continued and I was surprised as no bullets touched me. I ran till I got to my street. I immediately looked for a place to hide.
I hide inside an uncompleted building. I prayed silently praying to God to spare my life.
They all ran and passed the building I was hiding. I heaved a great sigh of relife. I thanked God for saving me from death.
I waited a little longer to be sure they were clear from the arear. I got out of the building and started walking to my apartment.
I checked my phone and saw I had 12 missed calls; all from Stella. I didn’t even notice. With all that was going on.
I wanted to call her back to tell her I was okay when someone grabbed me from behind holding my neck trying to choke me.
I struggled with the person and released myself from his grip. It was one of the cΓ»lt member.
My fear returned as I stared at him. I had to defend myself at least it’s only one of them.
The moment I ran towards him he brought out a pocket knife and stabbed me with it.
The sharp pain traveled through my all body and came back to the spot where the knife was.
I groaned in serious in. I have never experienced anything like it before. He pulled the knife out, pushed me to the ground and disappeared.
I layer on the ground trying to get up. I can’t die on the street like this. I thought with tears welling up my eyes.
I just found love and death has come knocking on my door. Life is truly not fair.
In my dying moment I really wished to see stella. Her image was the only thing I could see as of at that moment.
Slowly my eyes closed. I heard a car zoomed towards me and stopped. The next moment I was been carried into the car.
“Doctor how is he feeling now.” An unfamiliar voice said as I finally opened my eyes.
I saw man talking with the doctor. When the both of them saw I was awake the came towards me.
“How are you feeling.” The doctor asked me.
I just starred as if been controlled by a remote.
“I feel okay. But still feel a slight pain in my stomach.” I said
They were both relieved to hear my talk.
“I found you half dead on the street. How could you be roaming the streets at that time of the day. You know dangerous things happen at that time.” He said with concern.
What a kindhearted man. I thought. I didn’t respond to all what he said. Just then I remembered Stella.
“My phone. Where is my phone.” I said out loud.
The doctor immediately brought my phone out of a box in the hospital room and gave it to me.
I checked my missed calls. I had increased. Stella had called countless times.
I immediately called her. When she picked the call. I could hear her crying.
“Hello. Babe, am sorry I didn’t pick your calls. I got into trouble. Am sorry I made you worry.”
“It’s good to hear your voice again. I thought you were dead.” She continued crying.
“No am not. I just sustained an injury. Am at the hospital now.”
“You got injured!” She exclaimed
“What’s the name of the hospital let me come and meet you there.”
“God Heals hospital.”
“I will be there right away.” She said and the call ended.
The door to my ward opened and there was Stella. She ran toward me and hugged me like a child would do to his mother he had missed for a long time. She began to sob.
“It’s okay babe. There’s no need to cry. Am fine.” I calmed her down. I can’t believe I was the one consoling someone else. I need it to at my present state.
“Am so sorry.” Stella said still sobbing.
We disengaged from the hug as the door opened.
Stella’s expression immediately changed as she stared at the man.
