Clara had always been a dedicated worker, her dedication was one thing her boss loved about her. Since she joined the company, she had never given her boss a tough time, she had always carried out every task assigned to her with all diligence. Suddenly, her boss began to give her disturbing attitude. There were times he would shout at her and other times, he would call her names which was unlike him.
When Clara couldn’t take it again, she decided to tender her resignation letter and join her mother’s food stuff business which was already yielding great profits till she get another job. That morning, she walked into his office and tendered her resignation letter after stating her reasons.
M.D: Why Sanni of all people? Is he better than I am?
Clara: I don’t understand you, sir.
M.D: Are you trying to play dumb with me? Virtually everyone in this company knows that you and Sanni are in a relationship. What I fail to realize is why you chose him over me.
Clara: Sir, I love him and He is God’s will for me. God chose him for me, sir.
M.D: So, God told you Sanni is a child of God while I am the devil’s child right?
Clara: Not at all, sir. I didn’t mean it that way.
While Clara stood before him trying to defend herself, The Managing Director placed a call to Seun asking him to come to his office immediately, and within a few minutes, he joined Clara in the M.D’s office. Seeing Clara looking unhappy in the M.D.’s office made him very concerned.
Seun: Oga, you sent for me.
M.D: Yes. Well, we all know that you and Clara are in a relationship and it’s not allowed in the company so, I am giving you twenty-four hours to end whatever is between you or be ready to lose your job.
Seun: Alright, sir. There is no need to sack us, we will submit our resignation letter tomorrow. Our job can’t come in between our relationship.
M.D: You fool, speak for yourself. Clara, what are you going to say to this?
Clara: I have already submitted my resignation letter, I just need you to approve it.
M.D: How dare you step on my toes? Get out of my office now.
Seun held an already teary Clara and together, they walked out of the M.D’s office. As they got outside, Clara burst into tears while Seun had to help wipe her tears and encourage her.
Seun: Sweet, you don’t need to cry. He isn’t fighting us but God and let’s see if anyone can win if he decides to fight God.
Clara: How are we going to cope with being without jobs? How are going to take care of ourselves?
Seun: God is our sustenance and not our salary. Don’t worry, we would email our resignation to the Chairman so that we would get this month’s salary because this guy won’t pay us if we submit our resignation to him. My love, let’s trust God, He won’t fail us. This is happening because God is taking us to the next level and our wedding date will not be shifted, God will come through for us. Please, be fine, my love.
Clara: (wipes her tears) I trust God, I am just afraid.
Seun: My baby boo, please, don’t be.
When the duo got home that night, they sent their resignation letter to the Chairman of the company. Mr. Kosoko was working on some documents when he received a notification, he checked and saw that it was a mail, he opened his inbox and saw that two of his dedicated workers in his branch company were resigning. He became disturbed and decided to be there the following morning, he decided not to inform the Managing Director to know the cause of the workers resignation.
Mr. Kosoko invited Clara and Seun into his office immediately after he got to his branch company. Immediately he set his eyes on Seun, he lost his peace. Seun was also shocked when he saw the Chairman as that was the first time of meeting him physically. Clara was also lost, she couldn’t understand why Seun and the Chairman shared a strong resemblance.
Chairman: Seun, who is your parent?
Seun: I didn’t know my Dad, my mom was impregnated when she was in secondary school. Well, my mom is doing fine.
Chairman: What’s her name?
Seun: Ashabi.
Chairman: Haa! My sins have finally caught up with me.
Seun: Sir??
Chairman: I used to know one Ashabi, I never loved her, I only wanted to have a taste of her. My parent took my siblings and i for a holiday in the village and that was where I met Ashabi, the beautiful and curvy damsel.
