Clara was glued to her seat, she was not expecting him to spill the words sooner, she had felt he would come to ask her out when things get better for him. While on her seat, a lot of things were running in her head, things like will he be able to take good care of her? Will he be able to give her the kind of wedding she wants? Will he be able to treat her like the baby girl she was? With that thought running through her, Clara was unsure of what answer to give to Mr. Sanni.
She went home still thinking of what to do. A part of her wanted to do God’s will while another part wanted to say no. As she lay in bed that night, she suddenly had a flash, Adesuwa was telling her not to end up like her. At that point, Clara broke down in tears appreciating God for guiding her steps, and then went on to ask for the grace to accept Mr. Sanni.
Some weeks later, Clara sent a text to Mr. Sanni stating that she would do life with him. There was this sudden joy in her heart after she made up her mind to marry Mr. Sanni. Mr. Sanni called her immediately appreciating her and then asked if they could have lunch on Saturday. Clara felt as if she was hearing double, she was not expecting him to take her out for lunch, she thought he would be crude and unromantic, she had believed that she would be the one to teach him how to treat a lady.
Saturday came and Clara found herself trying to look stunning. It was her first date with Mr. Right and she believed that she had to look very beautiful to make that day a memorable one. Done with dressing, she took time to check herself out in the mirror to ensure her aim of looking beautiful was greatly achieved. As she stepped out of the house, her mother was stunned to see her daughter looking so beautiful. She teased her before allowing her to go on her date.
Clara got to the venue whose address Mr. Sanni had early sent to her and was shocked to see that it speaks wealth. At first, she thought she missed her way and had to confirm the address. She walked in after ensuring she was at the right destination and was surprised to find Mr. Sanni already sitted. Since he didn’t see her on time, Clara took her time to check him out and what she saw was so great.
Her Mr. Right was looking so handsome, that one would have mistook him for the CEO of a company. Clara walked up to him and when he saw her, he was lost in admiring her that Clara had to cough to bring him back to consciousness. It was as if both of them had planned to look extra gorgeous that afternoon.
Mr. Sanni apologized for being carried away and brought out a chair for Clara to sit on, an act that made Clara blush. She could remember she was always reminding Mike to always bring out a chair for her to sit on whenever they go to restaurants but he would always claim that there was no big deal in it. Clara and her Mr. Right placed their order which Mr. Sanni paid for, another act that wowed Clara, she had come along with her card in case Mr. Sanni had no money, she wasn’t ready to be stranded or embarrassed by anyone. While their food was yet to get to them, the duo engaged in a conversation.
Mr. Sanni: You look so beautiful and thanks for accepting to do life with me. I promise never to break your heart, I will be there for and with you and I will always make you happy.
Clara: Thank you, Mr. Sanni
Mr. Sanni: please, call me Seun. My first name is Seun.
Clara: Ohh! So, how are you doing, Seun? How is life? I just noticed that you speak English fluently and it’s so surprising, I mean, I have always thought you to be an uneducated fellow.
Seun: (smile) And my uniform didn’t help matters. Well, I am a graduate of Mathematics from the University of Ibadan. I have been searching for a job for years and I had to settle for this while I keep searching. At least, to help care for my aged mother, she went through a lot for me to be successful and it hurt that I can’t do much for her.
Clara: wow! And your Dad?
Seun: Didn’t get to meet him or should I say I don’t know him. Mom got pregnant while in secondary school and he denied the pregnancy. So, she dropped out and did all kinds of menial jobs to ensure i become a great personality, she didn’t marry again because she no longer believed in love.
Clara: Oh my! So sorry, life must have be so hard for you.
Seun: Yes but when I met Christ, the narrative changed and now that I’ve met you, things will get better.
Clara: Come on, you are going to make me blush again. Meanwhile, you look good and I think I am beginning to…..
Seun: (curious) beginning to what?? Tell me…
Clara: beginning to love you.
Seun: Awwwn. Let me tell you this, I have loved you for over three years but the Holy Spirit told me to wait.
Clara: wow! Jesus! This is unbelievable.
Seun: Our union will be heaven on earth in Jesus’ name.
Clara: Amen!
Seun and Clara became inseparable in the space of two months. To Clara, it was as if she had never fallen in love before as Seun was all she wanted and needed in a man. To crown it, her mother accepted Seun wholeheartedly.
In a short while, their love became visible in their office which infuriated the managing director. He had been hitting on Clara but she refused to give him a yes, for him to now discover that his crush was dating the company’s gateman made him mad, and he then made up his mind to destroy their relationship.
