On a bright Saturday morning, Bruce sat with his wife in his porch. He recalled with a shiver, the chaotic day when he and his wife returned from the church she ran to, seeking solace after his mother had relentlessly chased her out of her own home.

Relief washed over Bruce as his mother reluctantly picked her bags and made her way out of the house, while threatΓͺning fire and brimstone, if she met Tracy in the house, the next time she visited her son.

It would have been less shameful to be jilted before your traditional wedding, than to get traditionally married, and still be discarded like this. Gosh!β Cynthia berated her harshly, leaving Patricia more broken than she was, before she arrived.
Bruce and Tracy walked in at that moment, and though Patricia and Tracy havenβt been really close, Patricia could see the concern and care in her eyes, as she walked to her sides, and sat beside her.
βPatricia, you will stop crying now, because I believe what you owe yourself now, is something better.
βIβm sorry to say it, but Drake isnβt worth the fuss and the tears.β Bruce said, clenching his fists, only releasing them, as he saw her behind to wipe her tears.

βOf course she is. All thanks to her refusal to heed warnings and be reasonable. If she had done the needful back then, there wonβt be this monumental embarrassment of a man already traditionally married to her, wedding another, how much more, a pregnancyβ Cynthia insisted.
βSure enough. And since she had already made the mistake of not doing the right thing before, those who care for her, should stand by her to help her see the way forward, and not make the mistake of dwelling on the past any longer.

Cynthia took a long look at Patricia and realized that she appeared happy to hear Tracy’s opinion on the matter.
