While Bruce was battling to protect his wifeβs interest, Drake was fΔ«ghting to ensure that his place in Samanthaβs heart wasnβt threatened by his marriage to Patricia.
As soon as the marriage ceremony ended, Drake made an excuse to leave with his wife for the city almost immediately.
He didnβt have the time to be with his kinsmen as they had requested, to enable them perform some rites in his fatherβs compound.
Drake was worried about how heβd be able to leave the house that night, and was still racking his brain to whip up something, when Patricia walked into her bedroom to question him.
βDrake, of all days, you chose to go to Samanthaβs house, when you knew like hΓͺll that we were all waiting for you
βHow could you Drake? I mean which man keeps his family and that of his in-laws waiting for him, while he gallivants round town with a whΓΆrΓ¨?β Patricia querried, all the anger she had been bottling all day, coming to the surface.
Drake looked at her, and made to answer her, but his phone began to ring.
And of course, it was no other than Samantha, calling to know if he was still coming to her house, like he promised her.
He looked at the phone and muted it instantly, feeling really upset that Samantha wasnβt giving him the time to breathe at all.
βBaby, you know what youβre doing isnβt cool, right? For Godβs sake, we just got married!
βAnd instead of concentrating on making things better between us, youβre beginning to antagonize me because of a single mistake I made back then.
βHow can you imagine that Iβll be able to go to Samantha again, after you caught us here the other day here?
βDo you know how hurt I have been since that day, to have gone that way just because I was sΓ«xuΓ lly starved?
βWhat will I need someone like Samantha for, when I have a damsel like you for keeps?β He asked her, closing the gap between them, and began to caress her face.
He needed to quickly sort things with his wife, if he was going to get a chance to run out of the house, but it appeared Patricia wasn’t buying, especially when she could tell that the constant vibrations from his phone were calls from Samantha.
She pulled away from him, nearly screaming the building down in Γ£nger, when it dawned on her that he was simply trying to get fancy with words again, and that hot Drake riled up that he too began to bark at her.
And so, Patricia and her husband had their first quarrèl on the very day they got married, all thanks to Samantha.
Drake couldnβt find a way to leave the house that night, but his heart was with Samantha all through the night, as he lay on the couch in the sitting room, where he passed the night.
Early the next morning, he left the house, under the guise of going to see the wedding planner to make some changes in the plans for the wedding that was billed to come up the following week.
He rushed through his discussions with the wedding planner and quickly called Samantha to know where she was.
βIβm in the office, but getting ready to go to the hospital. You promised to come around yesterday, yet she kept you away from me and your first fruit
“I have been so weak and sick,so I’ll go to the hospital now to get helpβ Samantha complained, sounded so cheated, Drake’s heart contracted in worry.
βIβll be with you in a moment my love. Please calm downβ he implored her, and hurried up to her office.
Samantha was truly feeling the discomforts of the early stage of pregnancy, but she didnβt need anyone to tell her to amplify her weakness and discomfort, to get Drake where she got him.
She got permission to go home because she was sick, just to get Drake home with her.
Drake did everything within his powers to ensure that Samantha felt better, and that included giving her a warm bath, that ended up making him spill some warm fluids.
He had always been mesmerized by Samanthaβs body, but with her brΓͺasts getting fuller because of the pregnancy, Drake was literally no longer able to pull himself away from her bossom.
When Samantha allowed him to go home that day, it was already so late in the night, and he had ignored his wifeβs call almost a million times.
βAnd where is my husband coming from? Oh sorry, let me rephrase that. Why did she allow you come home eventually?β Patricia asked, looking at him fiercely.
βPatricia, I am so tired and in dire need of sleep. Would you please not stress me this night?β he asked roughly, before he strode past her.
His words incensed Patricia beyond imagination, and she was screaming about how irresponsible he was, and how sheβd have been better off not marrying a man that lacked self control like him
βYou know youβre very right Patricia? You shouldnβt have pressurized me into marrying you because like you rightly said, there isnβt a part of me that you didnβt know before we got married. So if youβll excuse me, Iβll need to catch some sleepβ Drake fired nonchalantly.
He was shocked to hear Patricia break down in tears as he turned to leave and a wave of pity swept over him
Drake stood still. He was in a big dilemma because he was beginning to feel really tired, his heart hurting as he watched Patricia lean on the wall beside her, bawling like a baby.
He turned around began to walk towards her, until he was standing in front of her. Tension hung thick in the air between the him and his wife, and a streak of awkwardness stirred in Drakeβs heart.
He looked at Patriciaβs face, he knew that a lot of harsh words had been exchanged, leaving her upset and emotionally shattered, but her face held a deeper sense of pains and regrets
In his heart, he had presumed that he could get away after making her so mΓ d at him, yet, in the midst of the chaos, something shifted in his heart.
From a part of his heart, the part that continued to get tugged by thoughts of how things had always been between them before Samantha arrived, yearned to bridge the divide between them.
As he cautiously lifted his hands to hold her face, his eyes were filled with an unspoken plea for forgiveness, hoping that he could find a way to.live her like he had.always done.
Patricia resisted at first, pulling her face away from his reach, her heart tightly guarded, but his unwavering determination began to chip away at her anger.
His moves were slow and deliberate, drawing his face nearer to hers, with his charm pulling her forcefully in.
A magnetic force seemed to envelop them, transcending the moment.
Then, in one fateful instant, their lips collided passionately, releasing a simmering tension that had been building beneath the surface; yes, Patricia had been longing for his touches.
Time stood still for Patricia as their bodies melded together, and she felt their souls reconnected in a heartfelt embrace, igniting a fire, that couldn’t be contained within her heart.
Drake was kissing her, but deep within his heart, he wasnβt feeling the savour. There was no fire in it because he was simply absent!
βLove meβ he heard her beg him at some point forcefully, fetching his heart from the far away places it had journeyed to.
He had an erectiΓ²n quite alright, but he knew deep within him that the erectiΓ΄n had nothing to do with the kiss, but he also knew that he had to do what he had to do
And so, Drake made his wife take a doggy pose, to keep her from reading the truth in his eyes, as he made love to her, thinking of Samantha.
