👫 Cacophonous Melody Episode Thirty Two: 💞
Bruce stood at the doorway, completely unable to accept the interpretation his brain returned from the processed signals from his eyes.
“My eyes have got to be playing a fast one on me. This can’t truly be happening.
“Drake and Samantha? How could this be?” he thought as he stood there, dumbstruck.
The two crãzy people seemed unaware that they now had company, because they continued with what they were doing; fondling, kissing and nibbling sensitive parts of their individual bodies.
Bruce made a sound with his throat, as though there was something in it, that he needed to clear, and got Samantha and Drake pulling apart immediately, both looking at each other, then at Bruce in shock and confusion.
Samantha found her tongue first. She adjusted her gown quickly, and began to run towards Bruce.
She knelt in front of the immobile Bruce and began to speak from both ends of her mouth.
“It’s not what you think Bruce. I was here to see Drake, to get him to talk to you to take me back.
“I must have been too emotional for both of us to handle, and we…” she was saying when Bruce cut her off.
“Whatever you were doing before I got here, or even since I have been standing at the door, is none of my business.
“I came here to see my friend because I have something serious to discuss with him, as regards his upcoming wedding.
“I didn’t know he’d forget that he has a wedding to plan and descend so low, as to stain himself with someone like you, at a crucial time like this. And please, do not kneel in front of me, as if I have anything to do with what you choose to do with your body” he lashed at Samantha, before he turned to Drake.
“I’m so disappointed in you Drake! How could you? Of all people, you chose Samantha some weeks to your wedding?
“And for God’s sake, if you found her so fascinating, why do you have to crawl behind everyone’s back, when you two are still very single and available to each other?” Bruce asked his friend, trying so hard to keep his voice down.
“My guy actually, I know that I have messed up, but I can explain” Drake stammered, his eyes fixed on Samantha’s left brêast that was still hanging out of her dress, as a result of what he had been doing there.
Bruce shook his head in dismay, wondering if his friend has always been drooling over a woman he was dating, all the while he was with Samantha.
“What are you talking about Drake? I was crying, and you tried to console me, then things went a little bit out of hands, there’s nothing to look all beaten about” Samantha was saying when Patricia walked in.
Bruce looked at his friend, then at Patricia, wondering what he was going to do to save himself.
He knew Drake loved Patricia so much, and that a problem between them at that point won’t go down well with them.
But he also knew that he needed to talk to his friend, because he wasn’t going to sit and watch him hurt Patricia, because of someone like Samantha. And if he was going to do that, he needed to talk to Drake later.
“What’s going on here? Bruce, why are you looking at Drake with so much ãnger?” Patricia asked Bruce, confused about what was going on.
“Drake obviously doesn’t know how to draw a line, to keep himself away from things he shouldn’t be close to, but I’m out of here.
“I came here to give him feedback on what he asked me to find out, as regards your marriage plans, but with Samantha here, I’d rather leave already because I have no explanation to give my wife, for being here with Samantha” Bruce said, and walked out of the house, before Drake had a chance to say anything.
Samantha looked at Patricia, who was looking at her with so much contempt, then at Drake who was looking so confused and guilty, then she picked up her handbag, and ran after Bruce.
With Bruce and Samantha gone, Drake walked up to Patricia, who was looking at him in ãnger and tried to explain.
“Baby see…” he began, trying to hold her, but she pushed his hands off her body, and walked away from him.
“Start talking Drake. Please tell me what that half naked girl was doing here, when you know how much I detest her. And you better have a good reason for having her here alone with you, because from what Bruce said, he didn’t know she was here” Patricia ordered with a frown.
“Calm down sweetheart, that girl isn’t as bad as you think she is. She is having issues with her boyfriend, my friend…” Drake was saying, but Patricia was getting irked by his talks.
“What do you mean by her boyfriend? Is it not the same Bruce that you told me just married the girl, for whose sake he broke up with her in the first place?
“Bruce suddenly returned to being her boyfriend after he married a woman he loves?
“And she had to be in your house to do what exactly, Drake?
“Do you think I’m stupîd or what? In what ways did Bruce look like someone that was back with Samantha, just now?” Patricia asked Drake.
“Wait, hold on a sec, Patricia. Are you trying to insinuate that Samantha had another reason to be here in my house if not for what I just said?
“Are you really accusing me of having an affair with my best friend’s girlfriend, when we have our wedding, a few weeks away?” Drake said, choosing to use attàck as his best form of defense, since he really didn’t have what to say..
“Oh please stop screàming at me Drake. You won’t keep me from asking you what I need to ask you by sounding suddenly so tough and àggressive.
“And you’ll answer me right away Drake, because I know you have been going beyond the line, even your friend noticed your inability to draw.
“So you’ll start by telling me what she was doing here and what your reasons can be, for making the very human I do not want anywhere around me, your closest friend, so close that even your friend couldn’t keep his anger towards you completely hidden” Patricia said, standing defiantly, and placing her hands over her hips.
Drake was kicked to a tight corner, and he knew it. He had already told Patricia before, about Bruce being totally uninterested in Samantha, and how he had so outrightly denounced any form of affiliation with her.
“What am I going to say now? What explanations do I have for having Samantha in my house” he thought, and a quick solution hit him
“You know Patricia, all the time that we have been together, I have always trusted you, and imagined that you also trust me.
“I never thought that the day would come, when you’d stand in front of me, and accuse me so wrongfully.
“How could you Patricia? How could you have no trust for me, when we are about to become one flesh?
“What is love, if there’s no trust? And how poorly do you think of me, to have imagined that I could be with my friend’s girlfriend” Drake asked her.
“Keep up with the rigmaroles Drake. When you’re ready to talk, you’ll tell me what you have to do with that shãmeless girl.
“Drake you will start with what she was doing here, this early, before you tell me why she was looking at me with so much rivalry, almost as if we are married to the same man” Patricia returned, not ready to give in to his emotional blãckmãil.
“Fine, if you want to know, I’ll tell you right away. But don’t forget Patricia, you have hurt me with this lack of trust you’re displaying this morning” Drake said, then pulled out his phone, and began to make a call.
“Hello ma. I’m calling to know if you’re sure you still want me to help you with Samantha and Bruce’s issue, as we talked about before.
“I’m sorry if you feel offended by my decision to ask you again this morning to be double sure, but if things go the way you planned it, Bruce may be sad because of the unhappiness of the girl he had chosen already” Drake said, leaving his phone’s speaker on, to ensure that Patricia listened in, on the conversation.
“I thought we have moved past this stage Drake? I told you that my son wouldn’t be with that Tracy, if he wasn’t bewitchèd, so we have to help him
“I understand that you may not want to do what I asked you to do for me, but to call me again this morning, and ask me about whether or not I’m okay with that Samantha girl, is really not so good.
“I asked you to help me with bringing them back together, because I know you’re the only one who can do it easily. But if you’re changing your mind, then I guess I have to look for an alternative” Bruce’s mother said from the other end.
“No no no ma. I just wanted to be sure it’s what you want do. I’ll do my best mummy” Drake said and hung up.
“Did you hear that? Patricia, did you hear what the woman just said?
“She asked me to help her get her son and Samantha together again, and even though you may not like her so much, Samantha isn’t such a bad person.
“The woman chose her for her son, and you have chosen to accuse me unjustly. This is so hurtful” Drake said with a frown, and walked right to a couch, and sat down dejectedly
Patricia was shocked to hear what she heard from Bruce’s mother. But she was more confused about the whole thing, because even though Drake was making her seem like she was accusing him unjustly, she could tell that something was wrong, somewhere.
Drake made her apologize for accusing him falsely, and even threàtened to call off the wedding if she didn’t stop being the way she becoming.
“You’ve got to take it easy on me Patricia. You know I love you so much, and can’t wait to make you mine
“But if you can’t trust me, then it’s pointless going on with the plans to walk down the aisle” Drake fumed, happy that he could make Patricia unable to complain again, even when she had something to complain about.
Patricia returned to work that day, feeling more confused than she had ever been in life. She couldn’t tell how she ended up being the one on the offending side, when she felt so offended that morning.
When she spoke to her colleague andfriend about what was going on between her and Drake, she told her without mincing words that Drake was up to something.
They analyzed the situation of things, and Cynthia her friend told her to be sure she wasn’t walking into the arms of a terrible cheat, before the marriage started.
“I’m not making it sound like he’s the most terrible person on earth girlfriend, but if Drake is really seeing Samantha, his friend’s ex, then it’s a big deal.
If he was chatting with someone else, that would be painful, but not nearly as fearful as it is, when he can brazenly get involved with his best friend’s woman
“Whether estranged, or not. It tells me that he can sleep with your sister, if he has the chance to” Cynthia said.
“Well, that’s if he’s doing it. He could be innocent for all we know! This could be the devil trying to spoil things for us, when our marriage is so close” Patricia said, looking truly worried and confused.
Cynthia shrugged her shoulders and remained silent. She didn’t want to appear pessimistic, even though, she could tell without doubt, that something was off about the way Drake has suddenly become so hostile to Patricia.
“I won’t be the one who keeps telling her the truth that she needs to know, and have her imagine that I’m against her marriage plans” she thought within her.
And so, Patricia continued to see clues to the fact that Drake and Samantha were romantically involved, but couldn’t say a word about it, for fear of being labelled, a nagging woman.
She decided to start passing the nights in Drake’s house at some point, to rule out the possibility of Drake being with Samantha in his house, at night, but would always wake up in the night to find him out of the bed.
“You said it yourself Patricia. We are not going to have sëx before màrriage, so I can’t possibly lie so close to you at night, and still be able to keep myself from touching you” Drake defended himself, when she confronted him, about going to the guest room, that he always locked himself in, at night.
Drake was feeling so good with how he got things under his control. He had been able to convince Bruce not to tell Patricia about his mistake with Samantha, promising to put an end to it, and was super thankful to God that Bruce said he didn’t feel anything to see Samantha in anyone’s arms.
“She can be with anyone for all I care. But if that one has to be you Drake, you need to let Patricia know that you found Samantha better than her, and quit toying with her time and feelings. That girl is too good to be toyed with” Bruce had said, but Drake had his plans
He had Samantha where he wanted. Being able to literally tell her stop breathing whenever he wanted, or ask her to start jumping, if he so desired, because she was always begging for his touches, and didn’t need to be told twice that Drake wouldn’t make love to her, if she failed to do what he wanted.
She was unfortunately becoming a slave to lust, but she thought she was falling in love.
Drake’s initial plan was to always pass the night in her apartment, but with Patricia now coming over every night, he decided to have her get into the guest room, every night, before Patricia arrived.
He also got Patricia unable to say a word about Samantha again, and even managed to make her refrain from complaining about him locking himself in the guest room.
Things were just moving as he wanted, but his wedding day was just a few days away, when Patricia played a fast one.
She got the key to the guest room duplicated, and carefully opened the door, that fateful night
