Elvis’ Pov
My boss was still crying and didn’t want to spill, she wasn’t ready to tell me why she was crying. She quietly walked into her room. After some minutes, she came out with the shadow of tears still brimming in her eyes.
I couldn’t leave her in such state. It was really bothering me to know what the problem was all about.
“Ma’am please just tell me what the problem is, I might be of help to you”, I said with expectancy.
She didn’t say anything, but walked pass me to the living room. When she sat down on the couch, she called me to come over.
“Elvis I don’t know how to get this problem fixed. My brother has been arrested for having a hand in the rape of a lady named Juliet”, she uttered.
I was shocked.
“Why did he engaged in such illicit action?”, I asked.
“He said the lady was her college crush. After some years of their friendship, he concocted feelings for her, and since he couldn’t keep the feelings to himself, he later went on expressing it to the lady.
On the contrary his proposal was not accepted. After few months, they graduated from college and the lady went on to have a boyfriend.
My brother who later heard about this wasn’t happy, because she turned him down and accepted another guy.
Out of that enviness, he had a link with her boyfriend’s best friend and planned on how to rape the lady in order to terminate her relationship with her boyfriend”, she elucidated.
“So you mean that they both succeeded in raping the lady?”, I inquired.
“Yeah, the lady was actually raped by her boyfriend’s best friend, but it was all exposed when their plan got leaked”, she responded.
“Mmm, it is such a tragic news, but please don’t bring it upon yourself. All will definitely be fine”, I said consoling her.
“Elvis the problem right now is not awaiting until all is well. I have to make a move to ensure he is released from the police custody, else he and the crime culprit might be charged to court”, she said.
“Yes, you are at the right track, but the problem here is that how do we make that move? Definitely I know, he will be sent to jail if the matter gets to the court. So on your own plan, what were you intending to do?”, I asked.
“I was planning to go and see the lady, apologizing on his behalf. So she might tell the police to release him”, she replied.
“Yeah, that is actually a smart move. If you start it that way, I assure you of seventy five percent chance of his release”, I uttered gently calming her down.
“Okay, if you say so, I wouldn’t mind undergoing such risk. Because I know it will definitely not be easy for the lady to accept my apologies on his behalf”, she added.
“Don’t look at what it will cost you to achieve what you want. Just approach her and see her reaction. You must be consistent in all that you wanna do to show all amount of your seriousness”, I enunciated.
“I will be on my way now. Let me see what will be my fate”, she said and got up, then left for the lady’s house.
Juliet’s Pov
I was in the living room, when the door buzzer rang and I asked whoever was at the door to come in.
I was expecting a male and not a female counterpart. I was emphatically surprised to see a lady coming in, rather not what I expected.
“Hi pretty”, she greeted with a smile.
“Hi too. You may sit down and how can I be of help to you please?”, I asked.
“Oh no! Sorry you don’t know me. I’m Maria, Jeremy’s brother whom has been arrested for having a hand in your rape case”, she said.
“Oh really! That is what your brother did to me. After all I have done for him while we were in college, yet, he had the mind set to pay me back in such manner”, I muttered angrily.
“Even myself when I heard about it, I was definitely disappointed in him as my brother. I have actually never been myself ever since I heard about what he did”, she said as tears were cascading down her cheeks.
I began wondering the reason for her tears
“What’s the problem Maria and why are you crying ?.” I inquired.
“Please I don’t want you to be irritated by whatever I am going to say now”, she added.
“No worries ma’am just go ahead and say what your problem is, if I might be of help to you”, I responded.
“My brother sends you an apology. He pleaded with me to tell you that he is really sorry for everything he has done to you”, she said.
I was definitely upset at that very moment when I heard this.
“I don’t need his apology ma’am. Let him stay there in the police custody and bear the consequences of his sins. I couldn’t believe that your brother will be so heartless to the detriment of plotting with someone to have me raped”, I replied.
“Please temper justice with mercy. You gotta forgive him so another person might also forgive you your sins. We are urged to forgive one another as our Lord Jesus Christ did so for us at the cross of Calvary”, she preached.
The more she said this, was the more my anger erupted like that of a volcano. I angrily chased her out of my apartment.
“A time has come when every man shall pay for his sins”, I said solemnly and shut the door.
Elvis’ Pov
It was not too long when I saw my boss returning back from the lady’s house she had gone to. Her eyes was brimming with tears and she was walking very fast.
“Welcome Ma’am, how did it go?”, I asked with expectancy.
“Elvis it is a story I can’t tell. Imagine me being chased by someone out of her house like I am a thief”, she said angrily.
“Sorry about that ma’am. It will definitely be well. You just need to keep on trying until you say the kind of words that would break her mind, then she will finally accept to forgive him. And that will be the way of his release from the cell”, I responded.
I was definitely feeling pity for her, I just wished I was in the position to help.
