Rex’s POV
In life you gonna know about people and their lifestyle. The little time I had spent with Elvis and Maria was such a remarkable one.
For the fact that we were trying to defeat each other with our childish deeds of the eventful past, didn’t mean that we were embarrassing ourselves.
It was just for fun and amusement. Friends are one of the most best doctors in the world.
The game made me flashback some memories with Anne my girlfriend at secondary school.
She was one of the most prettiest and intelligent damsel. Her appearance was always glittering and easily attracts the male counterparts.
Anne emphatically was from a rich home and she never lack all what life could noticably offer, except life and death.
Our relationship started just to me like a nightmare, it was during the end of the term. The school had come to its climax for the academic year.
Before that very day, I have been developing this strange feeling for her. I started enjoying her company and always wish to talk to her alone.
But telling her I love her and want to be her boyfriend was the only mission I thought of never accomplishing.
Probably, I was an introvert, shyness was one of my attributes. I had to write her a letter telling her about all what I feel for her.
Definitely she responded and asked me to prove it. This was the first time of me talking to a girl openly about relationship.
Anne accepted my proposal and our relationship began, if not for my principal who made me to lost my Anne like no other.
Her memories in my life can never be forgotten. I am still expecting to set my eyes on her soon no matter what may.
Raymond’s Pov
Evelyn and I enjoyed our staying together and we were preparing towards getting married.
Her father, Mr Roger promised to fund the wedding. What a privilege to enjoy the benevolent assistance of Mr Roger. I was in the heaven of heavens when I heard this. At least, I could reserve some parts of my money for other needs in the future.
Evelyn earlier insisted I should take her on a date. I didn’t wanna involve myself in such plan.
I had to give her money to go herself, but she refused and developed some illness.
For fear that she would die, I accepted and promised to take her myself.
Little did I know that it was a prank. All what she wanna do was to attend her friend’s birthday party .
In the evening, we got dressed and we were set to go.
“Baby we are going to my friend’s birthday party at the Miami resort center”, Evelyn said giggling.
At first, I thought it was all a joke, but I believed this myself when her friend called and she said she was on her way.
“Look, why didn’t you inform me about this earlier? I do not understand why you been acting strange these days”, I responded angrily.
“Okay, I’m sorry for not informing you about this on time. I thought you wouldn’t succumb to my demand”, Evelyn said regretfully.
Her eyes were already brimming with tears. I had no option than to accept her proposal, even though I wasn’t in the position to do so.
We went to the birthday arena. It was an enormous gathering with a lot of people. Some were the people I knew and some as expected, were strangers to me.
Evelyn’s Pov
I hopped out of the car in the company of my fiance. I quickly noticed he was feeling uncomfortable with the current situation of the crowded people.
We were going to see the celebrant. We met her inside still preparing for the event at hand.
“Hi darling, you are really looking good on your outfit”, I said grimacing.
“Thanks love. Why wouldn’t I be happy on my day?”, Juliet inquired with a smirk.
“Nevermind, you should be. Juliet meet Raymond my fiance, baby meet Juliet my bestie”, I said introducing my fiance to Juliet, my bestie.
“Happy birthday Juliet, nice to meet you”, Raymond said giving out an elegant smile.
“Thank you very much, nice to meet you too”, Juliet replied faking a smile.
A lot of people were trooping in and out of the house, giving gifts and presents.
Juliet was extremely happy on her birthday. The happiness kept on displaying on her facial expressions and she glittered with beauty.
After observing her for a while, her happiness began fading away gradually.
I began wondering what could have prompted her to be in such a state just now, something was definitely wrong elsewhere.
“Darling, why are you looking somewhat sad or something? I have noticed that the tendency of your happiness keeps degrading gradually”, I asked with expectancy.
She wasn’t responding at all. I guessed she might have lossed or missed a love one.
“Come on, talk to me. What is wrong bestie?”, I asked again.
“Can’t you see the event is already running to its climax and yet I haven’t set eyes on my boyfriend”, Juliet said breaking the silence.
“See darling, just be patient and keep calm ok? He is coming, probably his car might have broke down and he is trying to get it fixed”, I said imposing composure on her.
She nodded and continued waiting, as she did, she tried his mobile number and it was switched off.
Shortly after, she stopped a friend of his who also attended the party to ask some questions. She was immediately told that her boyfriend wasn’t coming and besides he was with another girl.
Juliet couldn’t wait for the guy to finish up his speech, she fainted instantly.
The whole gathering was squandered as she was rushed into an ambulance and taken to the hospital.
I was trembling and became afraid as I prayed nothing bad happens to her. It was such a tragic news that Juli my bestie slumped on her birthday.
Who knows if she might survive?
Drake will definitely pay for this, if anything bad happens to my bestie.
