Elvis’ POV
When I woke up the next morning, I saw myself in the hospital with bandage and plasta wrapped around my head.
It was like a dream world to me. I used my hands to clean my face countless times, but the results was still the same.
Fewer minutes, after I had woken up, I saw Maria coming towards the bed projection I was laying on.
When her eyes got in contact with mine, she screamed out and ran to call the doctor.
I began wondering what could have prompted her to behave just the way she did, in such a childish way.
The doctor walked in, it was Dr Mike, our family doctor.
“Good morning Sir”, I said with expectancy.
“Morning Elvis. How are you feeling right now?”, Dr Mike asked.
“Not really good, am feeling nasty pains all over my body, most especially on my head”, I said childishly.
“Aww, sorry it will soon be over”, Dr Mike enthused, then used the stethoscope to check my heart impulse before leaving.
This time around Maria didn’t leave with him, she stood beside me and tears were cascading down her cheeks.
It really touched me seeing those drips of water running down from that beautiful face of hers
“What happened Ma…., sorry Boss?”, I asked with great concern, but she never responded.
The next thing I noticed was seeing her kneeling on the floor.
“Elvis I’m sorry for putting you in this health trauma. It wasn’t intentional,
it’s as the result of my aggressiveness”, Maria, my boss cried out.
It was crystal clear that she was definitely back to her right senses.
I was so bemused of what to utter. I just kept silent staring at her beautiful face. Indeed she was as beautiful as Venus, the goddess of beauty.
“Elvis please find a place deep down in your heart to forgive me. I know what I did wasn’t good at all. I don’t deserve your respect and humanitarian services. I put you in this mess as the result of my aggressiveness, I’m sorry”, Maria said still kneeling.
“No Ma’am, please you don’t have to bring this upon yourself. I gonna be fine. Nothing lasts forever”, I muttered, feeling her pains and regrets.
“That’s not what I wanna hear from you Elvis, just tell me you have forgiven me”, Maria said crying again.
“If only it will make you feel happy, I have forgiven you ma’am from the bottom of my heart”, I uttered in anticipation to see her next reaction.
I couldn’t even finish up my talking when Maria quickly stood up, and embraced me passionately.
Her sensation travelled down my spine, although I was feeling shy to return the embrace.
Just then, Rex walked in. I was trying to hamper the embrace, but Maria wasn’t ready to, even when she noticed that Rex has arrived.
I was about whispering to her and just then, she climaxed the scene.
“Hi guys, welcome back”, Rex giggled.
I was feeling shy to reply, but Maria greeted him and walked out.
“Come on, guy why could you use such language to notify us of your arrival?”, I said with a frown.
“Of course, was it offensive?”, Rex replied, raising his eye brows.
“Rex let me ask, are you out of your senses or being manipulated by other means. You need to still understand that she is my boss and nothing between us”, I said angrily.
“Yeah, I know you are fictitious. Stop kidding me okay?”, Rex said beaming.
“You better get it into your skull. A word is enough for the wise”, I responded raising a brow.
“How was your encounter with Mr coma at his territory?”, Rex giggled.
“Nothing much than dreams and rest”, I replied.
“Really, what did he send to us here in planet earth?”, Rex asked.
“He sent you guys a lot of wishes and he also said that you will join him soon”, I said fictitiously.
Rex on hearing this, stood up and made an attempt to run away. I managed to hold him back even at my condition.
“Rex why do you wanna run away?”, I asked him.
“Elvis you just said that coma told you to tell me I will join him soon. I’m not ready for that please. If it was a fallacy just stop it”, Rex said angrily.
I laughed, I didn’t believe he was gonna believe that.
“Well am sorry about that. It was ambiguous nothing much than that”, I said trying to calm him down.
Rex didn’t run away from me this time, he sat down with me as we both continued to interact.
Maria’s Pov
I could feel a heavy load being taken off my shoulders. My happiness knew no bounds when Elvis uttered these words, “forgiven you”.
These were the exact words I have been itching to hear from him while he was in coma. Now, it’s a reality. This was one of the red letter days in my life.
I went back to see Elvis and Rex still having a conversation.
“Hi guys, can I join you both?”, I asked interrupting their conversation.
“No ma’am, I do not think it’s pertinent for you to do so”, Elvis chipped in.
“No Elvis, I insist”, I replied still penetrating to belong.
“Ma’am, we can’t go against your wish. You can if you wish to do so”, Rex said.
“Thank you very much Rex, don’t mind Elvis your friend. He always like respecting me a lot”, I appraised.
I was so surprised when the both of them broke into laughter.
“Come on guys, what is funny about what I just said?”, I inquired with curiosity.
“You know, when you pronounced the word respect, I was shocked to my marrow, because years back during our secondary education, Elvis never played that role in respecting people’s personality, I’m only just surprise he now does”, Rex said beaming.
“Really?”, my eyes beamed with surprise, “I never knew about this. But you have to know that humans changes in behaviour and lifestyle as their life evolves”, I enunciated.
