π«π Bella And I Chapter Eight:
We went to the Youth Conference at Abuja but before then she was planning to stay at Gwagwalada, Abuja with her relatives after the camp and that was a huge upset for me.
Since we started dating, we haven’t been divided by states before and that would be my first. So, you can tell that it wasn’t easy at all.
I fought hard, I tried to convince her not to go, I did all I could but at the end I could tell she really want to go visit her relatives and one thing that broke my heart was that she will definitely stay there for at least a long period of time because we were in the month of July and that could mean she could stay till the end of the year.
Imagine not seeing Bella for such a long period of time. And then finally I decided to let her go, it is what she wanted and I have no right to deny her of that.
Then suddenly, my younger brother came and meet me in the night and we knew he was coming from Bella’s house and that was the night before our journey to Abuja.
He said Bella has decided not to go to the camp but she will go to her relatives in Abuja. I became mad, it got me real hard and that was because the camping will be my chance to see her for at least a consecutive 4 days before the camp is over and subsequently before she visits her people.
It was night, maybe around 9 or 10pm. I wrote a letter with details on how I feel concerning the journey and why she should follow us to the camp. I asked my brother to follow me to her house that night but he will be the one to enter and secretly give her the letter because I dare not enter, not even at that time of the night.
We went and stood at the gate. The compound gate was locked and we were not having airtime in our phones.
We couldn’t enter and it was painful. We went back home and then the next morning, after packing my bags and set for the journey, I sent my brother with the letter and I called her to meet me at her junction because my brother said she still doesn’t want to go and I told him I need just one chance with her and she will agree, he laughed but I was sure.
She met me at the junction and we talked and then she still said she doesn’t know.
I left feeling bitter, bad, destroyed, mad, angry what ever adjective you can use.
I took bike and then left to the place of meeting for the youths where the bus will pick us and then suddenly my phone rang I picked the call and behold it was Bella.
“Babe, can I still come or you guys have gone?”
That Question brought me back to life. I told her to come we were still there and that she should take bike I will pay.
My happiness came back. I felt Joy again. My teeth was outside laughing as if I was a child. I was so happy.
Finally, she came and then we were set to move. We got to the camp and we were so close, doing things together, loving each other as best as we can as if that was the last time we would ever see each other again.
People were looking at us and we could tell they want to know if we were married and that was because of how close we were at that moment.
She kept reassuring me that she would come back and I took that for solace.
The camp was over, we were in separate buses back to Jos but I knew she would stop on the way because she wasn’t going back to Jos with us.
That was the most painful moment for me because I couldn’t give her a goodbye hug. I saw her bus stopped, she dropped down with her bags and then my bus passed her.
I kept turning back to see her and she also was looking at my bus.
I bend my head and tears came down from my eyes. It was sad.
