…Martha bursted into tears upon hearing that. She was so heartbroken hearing the demise of Mrs Annabel. Because Mrs Annabel was among the ladder that led her to where she’s today. It was Annabel and her husband that saved Martha from the hand of Mr. Ojo. Annabel was the person who linked up Martha with Aunty Ifeoma.

THE CONTINUATION:
Even at Kaduna, Martha has been so unlucky when it comes to relationships.
As Martha had recorded many heartbreaks. To the extent that she began to ask herself if she was cursed.
The only savior Martha had was that she loved with her brain not with her heart anymore. Although Martha had no heart left again in her to give to any man. KC has already shattered the heart in pieces. So the remaining one left in her, she guided it with jealousy to avoid another episode of severe heartbreak.
The only man that looked real in her life now was Steve. The young man came from across the Niger.
Steve came from Bayelsa state. But born and bred in Kaduna state. He was a businessman. The owner of an aluminum roofing company in Kaduna.
When you talk of money, Steve has it. And when you talk of handsomeness, he has it. But despite his money, Martha didn’t love him the way the young man loved her. In fact, Martha didn’t take the young man seriously despite the fact that they have been together for a year now. Martha channeled her energy in God and her business. In fact, she was more focused in the dua than her relationship. Although you wouldn’t blame her because he who had been bitten by a snake doesn’t joke with any creature with a long tail.
Steve was an understanding young man. He loved Martha so much that he did shed tears wishing that Martha would reciprocate the love he had for her. He had done everything to his possible best to prove to Martha that he truly loves her and has a good intention towards her but all to no avail. As he was not getting the same energy from Martha. And the one that bewildered Steve most was that whenever he started mounting pressure on Martha on the issue, Martha would ‘jejely’ break up with him on the ground that she doesn’t want anything that would give her high BP again in her life. At the end, Steve would still come begging even when he was not at fault and they would still mend fences.
The number of times Steve and Martha had broken up in their relationship was very uncountable. To the extent that breakup doesn’t scare any of them again in the relationship. In fact, breakup and makeup had become a norm.
The fact was that Martha had a soft heart for Steve. She loved him too. Just that she was being careful so as to preserve the remaining heart in her from being shattered. Meanwhile, Martha had become a full force to reckon with in the market. As she was gradually dominating in the business inside the market. In fact, she had joined about four shops together and her warehouse was one of the biggest in that market. She had about three salesgirls working for her. And her international business contacts have spreaded like a branch of a tree. To the extent she now offload containers like an importer.
Martha was hustling like a man. She was a real hustler. Whenever she was unloading a container, you wouldn’t differentiate her from the offloaders. Because she would kit up in short and canvas, helping out and working tirelessly to ensure that everything goes well.
If it’s money, Martha has made money. The four bedroom bungalow she lived in belonged to her. She bought the apartment in an Estate outrightly. Even the Honda CR-V vehicle she was driving, she bought it brand new. She was living well. But one thing people loved about Martha so much was that she was humble to the core despite her richness.
Meanwhile, Martha has given her life to Christ. Thank goodness for Mary who drew her closer to God.
Mary contributed to Martha’s relocation from Lagos to Kaduna. She was the same person that secured an apartment for her in the heart of Kaduna through one of her house agents.
Mary was Martha’s childhood friend. The two came from the same village. Just that Mary has gotten herself a husband. And the journey of marriage was what took Mary far away to Kaduna.
Pastor Dauda was a dedicated man of God. He was a good husband to Mary. He met Mary during his pastoral work in Tunfure, Gombe State. Pastor Dauda spent almost a decade in Tunfure before he was finally transferred to his home state, Kaduna.
Mary reconnected with Martha via Facebook. That was where they exchanged contact. And ever since then, they have been in contact with each other.
It was as if God sent Mary into Martha’s life at that moment in time. Because Mary came into Martha’s life again when her life was in a big mess. Mary made it a point of duty to be calling Martha on the phone every moment of the day to pray with her and preach the word of God to her. In fact, Mary gave Martha hope. The love overwhelmed Martha to the extent she had to open up to Mary. Martha left no stone unturned while narrating her ordeal to Mary. And Instead of condemning her, Mary encouraged Martha not to give up and she prayed with her. It was on that very day Martha gave her life to Christ courtesy of Martha.
‘…Martha, you have been dwelling in darkness. But today you will be liberated from the shackles of darkness to the light. So do not give up in life,’ she paused. ‘Christ Jesus is the light. Whosoever follows Him will never be able to walk in darkness again, but will have the light of life. John 8:12.
Jesus is the light of the world. He was sent into the world to cast out darkness: to point people to God, to call people to repentance for their sins, and to empower his followers to do good works that bring glory to God.
Look, if you have Christ who is light in your life, then you can confront spiritual darkness through faith in Jesus.
The Savior said in John 16:13, “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me you will have peace. In the world you shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world’.
So Martha, because of the Savior’s Atonement, peace is possible today and forever…
