Kelechi had gone to the village for a burial ceremony of one of his uncles.
He had spent about two weeks in the village.
It was on the third week that he came back to Lagos.
KC came back to Lagos on a Sunday morning. After he had left the East on a Saturday night via night bus.
Nobody, none of his colleagues in the compound, have the idea that he had returned from his journey. As people were still asleep when he came back. And since that morning, he hasn’t come outside to greet anybody. As he was indoors, having a rest for the long and stressful journey.
It was in the night that KC sneaked out so as to quench the hunger of Catfish and cold beer in Madam-Do-Good joint. As such was nowhere to be found in their village.
KC could not do the merriment alone, so he had to invite his manest man, Bright, to come join him and make him two on the table.
Bright arrived at the joint in a twinkling of an eyes. Though his house was just a stone throw from the joint.
That night, they ate and drank amid joy and happiness to see each other again after what seemed like enternity. They engaged in discussion as KC left no stone unturned while narrating to Bright how he spent his time in the village.
‘…the highlight of the whole thing was my encounter with this beautiful damsel in the village. Her name is Precious. The damsel was so beautiful that I had to baptized and changed her name to Apunanwu( A precious and beautiful girl untainted by the sun)..’, KC narrated in an excitement.
‘Please, tell me more about this village damsel’, Bright curiously asked.
‘I met her on the burial day. She came from our village. She is so beautiful and fresh like early morning palm wine. She’s: Tall. Yellow in completion. Slim. Well endowed and quite curvy. In fact, she’s just a replica of Destiny Etiko and Omotola Jalade combined together. To crown it all, she’s a goddess..’, KC added.
‘Odogwu, it seems like you are already in inlove with this girl. I can see it through your eyes,’ Bright remarked.

‘Now what will do with Martha? Because she’s now like a bone on your neck,’ Bright had to ask.
KC heaved a deep breath before answering the question: ‘I don’t know. I am just confused,’ he paused. ‘But i have to let her go. Although It will be a gradual process. And my affair with Apunnawu will be on a low; it had to be a secret. Thank goodness she’s in the village. And my people are even encouraging me to marry her..’, KC explained.
‘You have to move on with your life bro. It’s obvious that Martha has become a dead wood, so you have to get rid of her in your life. After all, the deed had been done. So you cannot forever dwell in the past. Life has to go on..’, Bright added.
‘Nwanne, the reason I like you is that you are alway on point. You are unlike those îdîôts that called themselves my friends…I mean Kingsley and David..’, KC said.
‘Forget about those ones. They are good for nothing,’ he sighed. ‘I am fully behind you on this journey. Although it would not be easy but the journey will surely come to a success..’, Bright added.
‘Thank you brotherly. I really appreciate you for the support. Thank you very much..’, KC appreciated.
‘Odogwu, how did you managed to catch such a big fish…I mean your new catch?,’ Bright had to asked with ears wide open to hear the gist.
‘Mehn, her beauty really held my attention hostage during the burial. Though her mother happened to be the Osiri-Ora(cook) at the burial. So when I could not hold it anymore, I had to approach her. You know me na, I am a sharp shooter. So I didn’t waste any time in shooting my shot. And she fell yakataa,’ he paused. ‘The following day, I collected one round(he had sèx with her). The rest was history,’ he had to gulped down his drink before continuing ‘And you know that when you successfully applied a route for once, subsequently, the route has become an easy one to apply anytime and anyday,’ he paused, walking back on a memory lane. ‘The babe too sweet die. The news he heard cleared the sleep off his eyes immediately.
Precious was pregnant for him.
In fact, KC doesn’t know whether to be happy or sad upon confirming that the pregnancy of Precious was true.
Meanwhile, KC was still in a relationship with Martha despite the fact that their relationship was very tenuous. Because they have not ended it yet.
And Martha, on the other hand, was still in a very big trauma.
