Before Amaka could even finish talking, a stream of tears had started rolling from Martha’s cheek. As she couldn’t hold her tears back anymore .
‘What’s the problem? Is anything the matter?..,’ Amaka asked while comforting her.
‘Amaka, I am pregnant. The doctor said I am two months gone..’, she released the bombshell.
‘Martha! Pregnant for who? How come?..’, Amaka asked, very disappointed.
‘For KC. He’s responsible..,’ Martha stuttered.
‘How? How could you be so careless?,’ Amaka had to ask.
‘It was a mistake, Amaka. I am finished. My world has come to an end. What will I tell my aunt? What will I tell Oga Mba?,’…Martha was crying bitterly.
‘What do you want to do now…I mean, is he aware of the pregnancy?,’ Amaka asked in a very confused state.
‘No…he is not aware. I have not told anybody this except you..,’ Martha explained.
‘Martha, you have to reconcile with him..I mean KC. Secondly, he had to know. He is responsible. So he has to take responsibility..,’ Amaka was advising.

On that day, Martha didn’t go to the shop. She was at home thinking about her life when she heard a knock on the door.
She had visitors.
Amaka came along with KC to pay Martha a visit.
Amaka was very determined to unite the two together once again.
Martha wasn’t expecting them together. But be that as it may, she welcomed them wholeheartedly.
She had food at home. So she served them food. She also served them drinks.
Amaka and KC ate and drank to their satisfaction.
Then, there came the bone of contention.
Like a little child being tormented by a guilty conscience, KC smuggled himself closer to Martha and lowered his knees to the ground.
In a repentant and apologetic voice, he began: ‘Martha, I have wronged you. I have hurt you so much. I have sinned against you. I am not worthy to stand in your present not to talk of asking for your forgiveness. But I am here to say I am sorry. Martha, I am truly sorry from the depth of my heart. Please find a place in your heart to forgive me,’ he paused, shedding tears. ‘Please come back to me. Because without you in my life, I am nobody. My life has been a hell. Please forgive me. I promise to never hurt you again in my life. As I am a changed person now. I am born again…,’ KC was pleading.
Martha was already in tears; Tears of a sober reflection. Tears of pain. Tears of agony. Tears of forgiveness. Tears of reconciliation. As she was so dumbfounded, staring deep into KC’s eyes that was full of tears as well.
On the other side, Amaka, despite her tearful eyes, was signaling to Martha to extend an arm of embracement for forgiveness towards KC.
Although it took Martha time to finally come to alignment with the spirit of forgiveness.
‘Promise me you wouldn’t break my heart again. Promise me you wouldn’t hurt me again. Promise me you wouldn’t make me cry again. Promise me you wouldn’t cheat on me again..,’ Martha said, shedding tears.
‘Martha , I promise to love and cherish you, to honor and sustain you, in sickness and in health, in poverty and in wealth,in the bad that may darken our days, in the good that may light our way. Martha, beloved, I promise to be true to you in all things..,’ KC vowed as if he was in the altar for marital vows.
Martha stood up, offered a helping hand to KC to be on his feet. KC reluctantly stood up. It all ended with a reconciliation hug to the amusement of Amaka.
KC and Martha remained locked up in a rômàntîc hug for a long time, kîssîng and càrèssing each other in a very deep affection. To the extent they became unaware of their environment, forgetting the present of Amaka totally.
So when Amaka could not take the intimidation anymore, she cleared her throat to remind them of her presence. ‘I go love oh!,’ she paused. ‘I will take my leave now’, she announced and left amid happiness and heart full of fulfillment.
KC and Martha had sèx too. It was a memorable and hot love making they had that afternoon to seal their reconciliation.
As soon as they were done with the love making, Martha countenance changed immediately. It was as if she was lured into šèx. As if she engaged in the act unknowingly. As if KC used ‘juju’ on her.
Meanwhile, KC had taken notice of Martha’s sudden mood swing. He became worried and was so inquisitive to know what the problem was.
‘Baby, what’s the problem?,’ KC asked.
‘Hmm..nothing. I am fine..’, Martha said, pretending.
‘Babe, what’s the problem? You can share whatever it’s with me. Talk to me..’, KC pressed.
Martha was very dumbfounded. As she doesn’t know how to start telling KC she was pregnant for him.
‘I don’t think I am ready for this. How do I even start telling him this? How sure I am that he will not deny the pregnancy?..’, Martha was asking herself in silence.
