π A Daughter’s Revenge EPISODE FORTY FIVE:
PREVIOUSLY ON A DAUGHTERβS REVENGE:
β¦panic has gripped KC. He was very much afraid that Martha had done something bad to herself.
βGod, let it not be that she has harmed herself. Nothing should happen to her. I still love her so much,β he paused. In a sober reflection, he continued. βIf anything happened to her, I am responsible. And I will never forgive myself. As Itβs all my fault. Because I have hurted her so much by cheating on her..β
KC was soliloquizing as he was wandering up and down in the house very aimlessly. He doesnβt even know where to start looking for Martha.
THE CONTINUATION:
The search for Martha took top gear that night.
As Kelechi wandered around looking for her.
Likewise Aunty Ifeoma.
They have called Marthaβs phone countless times all to no avail. As no one was picking .
They have as well called a few of Marthaβs friends. But none of them agreed to have seen her.
Martha was a type who doesnβt have many close friends. As everybody was her friend. But only a few were her close friends.
No one remembered calling Linda.
As Linda was the last person Aunty Ifeoma thought of calling. Because she doesnβt see them as friends anymore. As a matter of fact, Aunty Ifeoma doesnβt have Lindaβs phone number in her contacts anymore. She deleted the number a long time ago.
Aunty Ifeoma hΓ ted Linda so much. She doesnβt like the person Linda had turned into. However, she championed the fight to make sure that Martha stayed away from Linda. Because Linda has turned into a black substance staining any white soul that came closer to her.
Meanwhile the incoming calls on Marthaβs phone were excess. Because some of Marthaβs friends joined the calling spree. To the extent that her phone battery ran down.
And the phone later went off. At exactly 1:30AM in the morning.
Upon noticing that, Aunty Ifeoma became very much afraid. Her heartbeat increased so badly. She thought of so many things. So many bad things.
She later resorted to prayers. She prayed and committed Martha into the safe hands of God. She prayed for God’s protection over her. She binded and casted any evil hand holding her hostage wherever she was.
Neither Aunty Ifeoma nor KC could sleep that night. As tears became their food.
The sun was up, hovering around the sky, so bright and clear that it pierced through the curtains in Lindaβs sitting room.
Linda lay on the ground, turning from left to right as the beast of the daybreak tormented her so much to wake up. Littered on the floor were bottles of alcoholic drinks, ashes, rolling papers, to mention but few.
βAhh! My head is too heavy!β, Linda screamed, holding her head. βGod! I smoked and drank a lot last night,β she said, yawning.
βWhat is smelling? I am perceiving some unpleasant smell in this placeβ. Linda said while observing around to know what was actually smelling.
βJesus!,β Linda screamed amid shock, having sighted Martha lying in the pool of her blΓ΄od. She laid at the back of her couch, just beside her entrance door.
βWhat happened to her? I thought she had gone home yesterday?β, she asked while jumping on her feet. She rushed to find out what the problem was with her.
Linda met Martha almost lifeless on the ground. It happened that she fell on the tiles. And actually landed with her head.
Linda shaked Martha left and right, but she was unconscious. Although she was still breathing. She had a deep cut on her head.
Martha!
Martha!
Martha!
Linda screamed her name. But she was motionless. Bleeding.
The blΓ΄od had mixed up with her vomit. Because she vomited.
βMartha, please donβt do this to me. Just hang on. Please donβt die. Please stay alive,β Linda was screaming.
Her scream alerted the neighbors. They all gathered and helped her to rush Martha to the hospital.
They got to the hospital. Linda made the deposit. And the doctor and nurses began administering treatment to her immediately.
Martha became very short of blood. Linda paid for blood. And it was given to her. Meanwhile Linda had wanted to donate her own blood. But hers didnβt match with that of Martha. So she had to buy it.
Linda had to call someone living close…to go inform Aunty Ifeoma what happened.
In a twinkling of an eye, Aunty Ifeoma dashed into Marthaβs ward like a mΓ d woman. She had a wrapper tied on her chest, covering her nightgown.
Martha was out already from the emergency room. As they had stabilized her condition.
Martha!
Martha!
Martha!
Where is she?
Aunty Ifeoma asked almost at the same time.
She made way to Marthaβs bed. Then sat beside her, crying.
βWhat happened?β, she managed to ask.
βIt was an accident,β Linda replied.
As a result of her state, Aunty Ifeoma didnβt take notice of her surroundings. She didnβt even know that it was Linda that was there. It was when she heard her voice, that she managed to turn so as to be sure of whose voice she heard.
βYou again? Where did you take her to? What have you done to her? I have warned you to stay away from my daughter. Because you are a bad influence to anyone that comes closer to youβ, Aunty Ifeoma yelled.
βAunty, donβt start this here. Channel the energy in prayer. We should be praying for her to get well soon,β she paused. βAnd for the record, I was in my house and she came looking for me. Before the whole thing happened. She slipped on the tiles and landed with head,β she explained.
βAnyway, I donβt have your time yet. When I do, I will know exactly what happened. Just pray she gets wellβ, she warned.
Just then, KC walked in. Aunty Ifeoma had earlier passed the sad news across to him on her way to the hospital. She called him on the phone.
Martha was still unconscious.
KC was shocked at the state he found Martha. He couldnβt talk as he battled with a guilty conscience. As he blamed himself for the whole thing.
βIt was all my fault. If I had not hurted her, probably this thing wouldn’t have happened to her. I just pray she survives it. I just pray she finds a place in her heart to forgive me,β KC was saying in his heart.
βItβs all her fault,β Aunty Ifeoma began while pointing an accusing finger at Linda. βSheβs the one that lured my daughter into this trap. I donβt know what they have done to her. But I just pray she survives it. I pray nothing happens to her because if anything happens to her, this dΓ¨mΓ΄n will have me to contend with,β she was reporting Linda to KC.
βAunty, I have told you, I have no hand in what happened to her. It was an accident. I didnβt lure her into any trap nor did I do anything bad to her. Like I said before, it was a pure accident. She fell on the tiles and injured her head,β she defended herself.
Meanwhile Aunty Ifeoma was expecting KC to react but she was totally disappointed that KC did not do anything. He just kept quiet as he buried his head down. KC knew that Martha must have told Linda everything that happened. So he doesnβt want to do anything that would force Linda to expose him.
βI was home when Martha came crying. As she was very heartbroken. I had to ask her what the problem was. She told me that she had a fight with KC. That KC broke her heart,β she paused. βThat was how she came to my house. The rest was history,β Linda explained, to vindicate herself.
Aunty was shocked upon hearing that. She stared at KC very disappointedly. βOh, Kelechi, so you have a hand in this too?β.
KC was very disappointed in Linda. He was not comfortable anymore. As he was of the wish for the ground to open and have him swallowed. βAunty, it was a misunderstanding. Just a minor fight. She left my house in anger, crying. I did all my possible best to calm her but she was very angry. Thatβs what happened. Nothing serious..β, KC explained.
The drama continued in the hospital.
