π A Daughter’s Revenge EPISODE THIRTY SEVEN:
PREVIOUSLY ON A DAUGHTERβS REVENGE:
β¦the rumor of KC renting a shop started spreading like a wildfire. Nobody believed it. Even when Mr. Anthony heard it, he didnβt believe it either. Though he had been seeing KC there, he thought he was helping the owner in renovating the shop. It was when he confirmed it from the right source that he came to believe it.
Mr. Anthony was not happy that KC rented a shop close to him. It was a very big problem for him to deal with. The issue started giving him sleepless nights.
However, Mr. Anthony had started up a fight that KC would not do business in that shop. His anger was that how could a boy he taught business rent a shop very close to him to do the same business with him. He vowed that he would not be alive and watch such happen.
THE CONTINUATION:
Some people faulted Kelechi for renting a shop close to his boss. Saying that he wanted to flex muscle with Mr. Anthony. Some said that KC wanted to compete with him. Some even linked KC to the proverbial βNwa Nzaβ(the bird) that challenged his βChiβ (gods) for a wrestling match after eating a heavy meal.
In fact, many things were said, even, against KC. And many of them said what they said out of jealousy. Because many were not really happy that KC, barely two years upon his return inside the market, was about opening a shop of his own.
But the fact still remained that KC rented that shop without any negative motive towards Mr. Anthony.
As a matter of fact, before KC paid for that shop, he really think twice because he never wanted anything that would join him with Mr. Anthony again. But he had to go for the shop because getting such a shop in such a good location was an opportunity he could not afford to miss. Because if he had allowed it to pass him by, such an opportunity might not come again.
Secondly, what KC intend selling in the shop was the same thing that Mr. Fidelis was selling before relocating to Canada. Then whatβs the big deal? Besides, the line where the shop was located was known for computers and its accessories. So whatβs Mr. Anthonyβs problem?
It was not as if KC donβt know how to deal with Mr. Anthony but he just wanted to be civil and diplomatic in handling the issue.
As the market union had promised to look into the issue.
π»πΎAT UWA NGBEDE JOINTπ₯πΊ:
It was on a sunny Sunday.
Kelechi specially took Martha to one of his favorite local joints to spoil her with some igboβs delicacies. Since she came from the north, he wanted to show her how sweet his local delicacies could be.
UWA NGBEDE JOINT was a one-stop local joint for authentic and exquisitely made Igbo delicacies.
Nwanyi Awka was so good at her craft in that joint.
Nkwobi was what graced their table. And Martha seemed to be enjoying it so much. Though she would definitely enjoy it because Nwanyi Awka local delicacies were priceless. Just like every craft, there are people who are Pro at what they do. And she was one when it came to Igbo local delicacies. No wonder whenever you come to the joint, especially on Sundays, it would be brimming with people. The fleet of vehicles you would see there would wow you so much.
βI like itβ, she had to confess while licking the sauce that pelted her fingers.
βI know you will definitely like it. Who no like better thing?,β KC added, boasting.
βYou have to be bringing me here every Sunday until I get tired of the enjoyment,β Martha said.
βThat wouldnβt be a problem,β KC assured.
βAnd I would be needing a takeaway for Aunty Ifeoma,β Martha requested.
βI will tell her to prepare two takeaways for you,β KC replied.
βThank youβ, Martha appreciated.
βAnything for you my babyβ,KC added.
KC was enjoying the Nkwobi with fresh palm wine while Martha was enjoying hers with a malt drink. Martha doesnβt have a head for an alcoholic drink. If not, she would have loved to taste the palm wine.
βI would love to learn how to prepare this N-nkwa-abi. So that I will be making it for you,β Martha announced.
βPoint of correction, itβs Nkwobi not Nkwabi. Please donβt come and use your northern tongue to spoil the pronunciation of my sweet delicacy,β KC said, jokingly.
βAt least I tried na,β Martha added, laughing.
βOh. Whenever you are ready to learn, I can talk to Nwanyi Awka to teach you,β he said.
βReal?β.
βYeaβ.
They continued enjoying the delicacy while engaging in discussion.
