God perfected what He has started. As the contract was ready to be signed and sealed.
Martha came with Kelechi to sign the contract. Right there in the office of commandant Musa, the multi million naira contract was signed and sealed.
Commandant Musa admonished them to keep working hard and uphold honesty in their business and dealings with people. That nothing paved the way than good and honesty. In fact, he dished out a lot of advice to them so as to encourage them morally.
This was a contract that people were vying for. Many companies and big businessmen were bribing their way just to land the contract. But Martha landed the contract on a platter of gold. Is God not wonderful?
Not only that, many businessmen vying for this contract were ready to use their môñèy to execute the job. Then be paid upon the completion of the contract. But in Martha’s case, seventy percent of the môñèy was given to her while the balance would be paid to her upon the completion of the job. Is God not still wonderful?
Meanwhile the môñèy was paid in cheque.
So Martha and Kelechi, from the commandant’s office, went straight to the bank to cash out the Cheque.
As Martha’s bank account could not contain such a huge amount of môñèy, the môñèy was then paid into Kelechi’s bank account. Thank God they were operating the same bank. So the transaction was very easy to complete.
Meanwhile, even before the contract was signed, Martha and KC had already made an arrangement where to get the desktop computers at a cheaper price. And they have gotten a reliable importer to supply them with the one thousand pieces of the computer.
Martha did not show herself fully in the negotiation with Oga Nduka. Because she didn’t want Oga Mba, her boss, to find out. Although Martha’s boss was not into the computer desktop line. But she was just trying to be very careful so as to not offend her boss. That was why she fronted KC to do the negotiation with Oga Nduka. And KC did a perfect job. In fact, he got the computers at an unbelievable price. Because Oga Nduka was one of the big importers when it came to desktop computers.
The seventy percent of the môñèy paid to Martha for the contract was even more than enough to execute the contract. The thirty percent balance was more of an extra profit.
The fainting light illuminated a very big mansion. The building was designed with gold. And its sitting room was a paradise on earth.
Martha and her elder brother were seen sitted on a sofa made of plated gold, staring around as they were totally lost. Because ever since they were born, they have never dreamt of such a mansion not to talk of having a privilege to be entertained inside such a mansion.
As they waited patiently to see their host, they were enjoying a bottle of an expensive wine with an ice block. Some wraps of fried chicken were there to complement the merriment.
Moments later, one of Chief’s servants walked down from the staircase to see them. He had a briefcase with him.
‘Please take this briefcase,’ he said while handing it over to Martha. ‘Chief cannot be able to see you again today. He is in a very important meeting at the upper chamber. And the meeting will take much of his time. He sincerely apologized for the inconvenience. But he promised to come and see you another day. Meanwhile the briefcase and its content belongs to you, Martha. Chief gave it to you in appreciation of your goodness and kindheartedness. Thank you,’ the messenger said and left.
On their way home, they engaged themselves in a discussion.
‘This môñèy chief gave to me is much,’ Martha was telling her elder brother.
‘My dear, even me, I cannot believe it,‘Martha’s brother added.
‘Chief is such a nice person,’ Martha said.
‘It pays to be good. Just look at how your little good had turned us into billionaires in just a twinkling of an eye,’ Martha’s brother added.
‘Yes, it’s good to be good. And good things never go unrewarded no matter how long it takes’, Martha replied.
‘So how do we share the môñèy?,’Martha’s brother asked.
‘What do you mean by that?’, Martha asked in surprise.
‘My own share of the môñèy given to us’, he maintained.
‘Well, for your information, I want to invest this môñèy into something that will benefit us all in the future. So you better zero your mind from this môñèy,’ she replied.
He could not talk again. He kept quiet as they continued the journey back home.
Halfway to their journey, night had caught up with them. So they have to find a place to pass the night so as to continue the journey the following day.
They got a safe place to pass the night.
As they lowered themselves on the ground, they slept off.
The following morning, Martha woke up but couldn’t find her brother. The briefcase was nowhere to be found as well.
Martha immediately dialed his brother’s phone number but it was switched off.
Moments later, it finally dawned on her that her blood brother had made away with the môñèy.
Martha screamed in pain.
Amid the painful scream, she immediately woke up.
It was a dream.
Martha had to let go of the dream as she could not read any meaning from it.

That fateful Monday happened to be the day Martha and KC agreed to make payment for the one thousand pieces of desktop computers. Oga Nduka has made available his bank account for payment and was patiently waiting for the confirmation of payment.
Martha and KC wanted to execute the contract as soon as possible.
So Martha arrived at the market that Monday full of energy and excitement.

Kelechi was nowhere to be found.
Meanwhile they had earlier agreed to go to the bank around 10:00 am and transfer the môñèy to Oga Nduka for the supply of the desktop computers. Martha wanted to follow him to make sure that everything went well.

Yet, KC was still nowhere to be found. Martha had to call to know what the problem was but his phone was switched off.
‘Impossible!’, Martha said while redialing the number. But it was still switched off.
‘What could be the problem? I just spoke with him this morning before I left the house. He agreed to meet with me to go to the bank together for the transaction. So what’s all these now?’, Martha was soliloquising, sweating profusely amid confusion.
Martha quickly dialed KC’s roommate’s number and he picked. She then asked him about KC but the reply she got left her in shock.
‘The worst has finally happened,’ Martha screamed in pain and regret.
