🙎 A Daughter’s Revenge EPISODE THIRTY ONE:
PREVIOUSLY ON A DAUGHTER’S REVENGE:
..halfway, she had a knock on the door. And Martha was not expecting any visitors. Besides, she was the only person at home because Aunty Ifeoma just traveled to the village for a burial.
‘So who could that be?’, she was just asking herself when the knock echoed again for the third time.
‘I just hope this is not Femi. Because this guy has been seriously pestering my life for a long time now. I have told him I am not interested in any relationship for now but he refused to let me be..’, Martha kept soliloquising. As she refused to go open the door.
The knock kept echoing repeatedly, this time, none stop. When Martha could no longer bear it, she angrily went to know who that was and as well shout at the person. In fact, if it was Femi, she would even fight him tooth and nail.
And she angrily opened the door, behold, she could not believe who she saw…
THE CONTINUATION:
Martha stood very shocked, staring at him dumbfounded.
She couldn’t really believe the sight.
Was the person staring at her real or a spirit? Martha was asking herself as she was cleaning her eyes with her hands to be sure that her eyes were not deceiving her. She never saw it coming.
‘Like for real, is that you or your ghost?‘, Martha had to ask him.
He nodded in affirmation confirming he was the one.
Martha screamed on top of her voice and jumped on him in excitement.
Martha couldn’t control her emotions. The sight of Kelechi was indeed very priceless to her.
You need to see the way KC held and carried Martha like a little baby, not minding her size and weight.
Happiness and love filled the air.
They stared into each other’s eyes very speechless. As love penetrated deep into their body and soul. Then slowly, KC planted a kîss on Martha’s lips. Martha was well pleased with the kîss. She accepted it passionately, locking her lips with that of KC in a strong affection.
‘I love you’, KC managed to mutter while still locking lips with Martha.
‘I-I-I love you too’, Martha stammered.
The two secret lover birds were really carried away, forgetting they were even outside. It was when the alarm of the electric automatic motor digital indicator system sounded that their consciousness came back. The alarm was an indicator that ‘NEPA’ had brought light.
They moved inside the house. Martha, who seemed to be the happiest person, could not even allow KC to rest. She really glued herself to him in excitement. She was all over him.
‘Why did you leave me without a goodbye?’, she asked while staring into KC’s eyes.
‘My dear, it was not my intention to leave in such a way, circumstances forced me into it,’ he paused. ‘I really tried to see you, but the bail conditions I signed never permitted me to do so. However, I had to leave Lagos from the police station in the company of my uncles,’ he hissed in a sober reflection. ‘I really passed through a lot in that cell. I nearly dîéd of sickness as a result of the diseases I contracted in that cell. Life in that cell was hèll. It was by the grace of God that I am alive today,’ KC explained.
‘Thank God you are alive, my dear,’Martha said in excitement.
‘Yea. And it can only be God,’ he paused. ‘ Anthony really used his môñèy and influence to deal with me. My dear, If you don’t have môñèy in this country, then you are nobody. Anthony taught me a lesson that möñèy is everything in this country,’ he hissed. ‘They deceived me and ate my môñèy. Then I protested for my môñèy, Anthony used môñèy and influence to deal with me mercilessly and shut my mouth up. But I have come back to this city of Lagos to make that môñèy either by hook or by crook. I am here to prove them wrong. That, even without them, Lagos, especially the computer village, will definitely favour me,’ he stated, very determined.
‘My dear, don’t worry. Thank God you are back. For you will definitely make the môñèy but not by hook and by crook. You will make môñèy in a very legitimate way. I promise you that. And I will definitely throw my full support to you,’ Martha expressed, really determined to do whatever it takes to help him.
‘Thank you very much. You are really a one In a million..’
‘You are welcome,’she said. It was then she realized that she hadn’t offered anything to KC. ‘Let me get you something to eat. I am sorry for keeping you hungry all this while. Just that I have been carried away with excitement forgetting to offer you something’, she said while making way to the kitchen.
‘My dear, I am filled up already,’ KC said amid happiness.
‘What do you mean by that? Are you indirectly rejecting my food?’, Martha asked.
‘My dear, your sight alone has filled up my stomach. Seeing you by my side is very priceless,’ KC excitedly said.
‘I have heard you oh! But you have to eat first and have some rest as well. What you had was a long journey,’ Martha’s voice echoed from the kitchen.
‘Okay. I am waiting’, KC replied.
Kelechi really felt at home around Martha. He waited patiently and eagerly for the food. He was already salivating as the aroma of the stew had filled the air. You really need to see how he was relaxed on the sofa, shaking his legs in excitement and anticipation.
Moments later, Martha appeared carrying a tray of food. KC had already drawn a stool close to him. Martha lowered the tray on the stool. She turned to go get something chill from the fridge for him.
But before Martha could return back, KC was almost done eating. She could not believe KC was this hungry. Because she wasn’t expecting him to finish the quantity of food she dished for him.
‘Ah! You are really hungry oh!’, she exclaimed, having observed that KC has consumed almost half of the food in a twinkling of an eye. She dropped the juice on the stool and sat beside KC on the sofa. She then served him the juice in a glass cup.
‘Thank you very well my dear. I must confess, I am very much hungry. Apart from gala sausage, I have not eaten any tangible food since yesterday,’ he explained.
